I’ve had some requests recently for more coverage of Kre-O news and releases here on Bricks and Bloks (and here I thought I was the only one buying Kre-O toys!), and serendipitously enough, the first-ever Kre-O book release has just now been officially confirmed and unveiled. It must be fate! Coming in 2014, the Transformers Kre-O Character Encylopedia book with exclusive Transformers Kre-O Orion Pax (Optimus Prime) figure is now up for order!

With the huge success of this years LEGO Minifigures Encyclopedia, it was only a matter of time until another blocks producer followed suit. And with Transformers 4 (AKA Transformers: Age of Extinction) heading to movie theaters in summer 2014, there was no more ripe time for releasing a Kre-O Transformers Character Encyclopedia than next summer!

Though I don’t post a plethora of news about the Transformers Kre-O line, I do post the Transformers Kre-O code number lists for every series of Micro-Changers Kre-O blind bags, and I’m aware that there is a loyal following out there for the toy line.

You may be saying to yourself now, “Who the heck is Orion Pax?” I’d forgive you for doing so, as Orion Pax was a little-known moniker until rising to prominence in recent years in the IDW Transformers comics and the Transformers Prime cartoon series.

Orion Pax is in fact the name of young Optimus Prime, from the time period before he was chosen to become a Prime. Orion Pax is one of the most important variants in the entirety of the Transformers mythos, and the exclusive Transformers Kre-O Orion Pax figure will make a fine selling-point for this Transformers Kre-O Character Encyclopedia.

The Transformers Kre-O Character Encyclopedia is now available for pre-order at the discounted price of $12.82 plus free shipping. The book (with exclusive Orion Pax Kre-O figure) will be released in May 2014 with a regular retail price of $19. I love this type of minifigures book, so I’ll be sure to pick it up and post a review once the Kre-O Transformers Character Encyclopedia comes out in the spring.
