In the lead-up to this month’s 2015 New York Toy Fair, photos leaked out of many of the LEGO Ninjago Summer 2015 sets. But one set that piqued my interest that I hadn’t seen prior to the event was the LEGO Ninjago Master Wu Dragon 70734. My eyes locked on and I went straight to this set at the Toy Fair 2015, and having now seen the set in-person, not only am I thrilled with its appearance–I’m also excited about the fantastic value of the Master Wu’s Dragon set…
All of Master Wu’s students have had dragons over the years, and now it’s Master Wu’s turn to ride his very own ghostly white dragon into battle!
The Ninjago Master Wu Dragon 70734 has a very Chinese Dragon-inspired look to it, and reminds me strongly of the dragons that I see doing the Chinese New Year Lion Dance in Chinatown each year.
I feel like this dragon is a great complement for Master Wu’s traditional look, and the duo feels like a terrific match together!
The set contains five minifigures: new versions of Black Ninja Cole and Master Wu minifigures, as well as three ghostly ninja minifigures.
The three ghost ninjas included are Pitch, Soul Archer and Hackler. I don’t know much (or anything, for that matter) about this trio of characters, but man do they look cool!
Rounding out the set on the villainous side is a crazy disc-firing cart for the ninja ghosts to wield, and what look like ghostly spirit discs and a translucent ghost figure! Crazy!!
While it’s not a minifigure, per se, the set also includes a bow and arrow carrying husky dog! He’s even got a little bone! CUTE!! This ninja dog is probably the single most adorable thing LEGO has ever created for the Ninjago sets, and I love it!
But the best part about the LEGO 70734 Master Wu Dragon Ninjago set just may be its price! Although the set contains 575 pieces, it’s priced at just $39.99! That’s less than 7 cents per piece, making it among the best LEGO values in recent history!
The 70734 LEGO Ninjago Master Wu Dragon set is part of the Summer 2015 Ninjago sets wave, and is scheduled to be released in August 2015 (or July 2015 as an early release in many stores). I’ll be posting previews of the rest of the Ninjago 2015 sets throughout the month, and you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have news and photos sent right to your Facebook Newsfeed!
Now that Master Wu finally has his very own dragon on the way, what do you think of him, LEGO fans? Will the Ninjago Master Wu’s Dragon be flying into your collection this summer?
Very Sweet! This is a must have in our collection!
A bit to chinkish in my opinion but those minifigs are awesome!!!!!!!!,
