Toy Fair 2014: LEGO Star Wars AT-AT Summer 2014 Set Photos!

Yesterday I discussed the biggest and most broke-inducing of the LEGO Star Wars 2014 Summer sets (the LEGO Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer), so today let’s take a look at the other “biggie” coming in Summer 2014! This is another vehicle that we’ve seen done before–over and over, in fact–but it’s also another vehicle that there are always LEGO collectors and fans wanting. Due August 2014–it’s the LEGO Star Wars AT-AT 75054!

LEGO Star Wars 2014 AT-AT 75054 Box with Set LEGO Summer 2014The Imperial AT-AT is no stranger to LEGO Star Wars sets. To date, the AT-AT has been produced five times before this latest set, with the most recent release being as a Toys R Us exclusive back in 2010. It feels like only yesterday that I was seeing that set at my local stores, but it turns out that it’s been years. As the Battle of Hoth is among the most beloved battles in Star Wars and one that kids (and bigger kids) endlessly want to recreate, bringing the new LEGO AT-AT 75054 to stores was a total no-brainer.

Despite the fact that it’s the sixth release of an AT-AT LEGO set, the 2014 LEGO 75054 AT-AT set has a couple of advantages over every LEGO AT-AT ever produced. First, and foremost: piece count! Clocking in at 1,138 pieces, the new 2014 LEGO Star Wars AT-AT contains more pieces than any AT-AT LEGO vehicle ever produced–even the motorized, walking AT-AT (which contained 1,137 pieces–yes, one piece less).

LEGO 75054 Minifigures AT-AT Summer 2014 Star Wars LEGO SetThe LEGO Star Wars AT-AT 75054 will also be the first AT-AT to sport a spring-loaded missile shooter feature. I’m still not 100% sold on these LEGO spring-loaded shooters, but for some reason the feature strikes me as more natural when coming from a free-standing, slow-moving AT-AT than from one of the LEGO spaceships. There’s also a poster included, which I hope is something really cool (though I suspect it shall not be).

Toy Fair 2014 LEGO Star Wars Snowtroopers Minifigures from NY Toy Fair 2014 AT-ATOn the minifigure front, this is a pretty decent set that contains five minifigures. The LEGO 2014 AT-AT includes the first-ever LEGO Snowtrooper Commander minifigure, alongside two generic LEGO Snowtroopers minifigures. The Snowtrooper Commander figure is, well… pretty similar to his subordinates, but it’s still nice to have a tiny bit of variety! The set will also contain a redesigned LEGO AT-AT Pilot minifigure and a newly-designed LEGO General Veers minifigure.

Toy Fair 2014 LEGO Star Wars 75054 AT-AT Set  Value-wise, I think this set is a pretty good deal. The 2010 LEGO AT-AT sold for $109.99 for just 815 pieces, whereas this new LEGO AT-AT 2014 version will sell for the same $109.99 but include over 200 more bricks! Weird to see LEGO giving us a better deal years later, but I’ll take it!

75054 LEGO Star Wars AT-AT Summer 2014 Set at New York Toy Fair 2014The LEGO Star Wars Summer 2014 AT-AT 75054 set is expected to be released in August 2014 with a price of $109.99. I’ll be posting more photos and discussion of the LEGO Summer 2014 sets over the course of the next few weeks, and you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have more news and updates sent straight to your Facebook Newsfeed!

How do you like the biggest (piecewise–but not most biggest or most expensive) LEGO Star Wars AT-AT yet, LEGO fans? Will this Imperial Walker be walking into your collections this summer, or is this redesigned set not “new” enough to earn your dollars?

  1. It looks ok, and those new snow troopers look really nice, but it doesn’t really do much to differentiate itself from the previous incarnation, unlike the Tank droid or X wing. I think I will pick up the Star Destroyer instead.

  2. Where is the Leg-Joint detail? I still like that fact from the first AT-AT along with the special piece that came with for the front window of the Walker.
