Although “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is one of the most popular and renowned movies in the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was a pretty big let-down for LEGO fans, as there were exactly zero boxed sets released for the blockbuster movie. But TLG isn’t making that same mistake again, as they’ve got three sets on deck for “Captain America: Civil War”–and the LEGO Black Panther Pursuit 76047 set will give us our first mass-release Winter Soldier and Black Panther minifigures!

For the most part, the 2015 LEGO Marvel sets are being dominated by sets themed around this year’s Marvel Cinematic Universe movies (Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man). The moment of truth that most LEGO collectors dread each year has arrived: the San Diego Comic-Con 2015 exclusive LEGO Minifigures are now beginning to be announced! As usual, only a few hundred of each minifigure will be available at SDCC 2015, and you can only win them through a “random” lottery drawing. I was pleased when the Collector (an obscure, mostly unpopular character) was last year’s Marvel exclusive, but LEGO will not be making any friends this year with the SDCC 2015 Exclusive LEGO All-New Captain America Minifigure!

After stopping at the LEGO Store and taking photos of all the new Summer 2015 Star Wars and City sets yesterday, I strolled away content with the knowledge that I was totally caught up on everything new in stores. Or at least–I was for about five minutes! Then someone posted a photo on our Facebook Page which sent me scrambling on a quest to Toys R Us: the LEGO Ant-Man Final Battle 76039 set has now been released in stores!

It used to be that we could count on the next month’s LEGO Store Calendar being posted right on time (or even early!) like a finely-tuned watch each month. Unfortunately, there’s been a disturbing trend of the calendars not being posted online until later and later each month–so much so, that I had set my alarm to get up early and head to the LEGO Store myself at opening in anticipation that the June 2015 LEGO Store Calendar wouldn’t be posted online. But hey, any excuse to head to the LEGO Store is a good one, right? And after a quick trip to my closest LEGO Store, I now have hi-res scans of the LEGO Store June 2015 Calendar and all of the scheduled deals, promos and events!

Over the weekend I saw all of the LEGO Speed Champions sets in-person–but those weren’t the only new sets I got lay my eyes upon for the very first time! My local Toys R Us had put out all of the LEGO Avengers Age of Ultron sets (except the LEGO Hulkbuster Smash, which I’ve only seen for order online so far), including a set that wasn’t at the 2015 Toy Fair: LEGO The Hydra Fortress Smash 76041 with Quicksilver and Baron Strucker minifigures!

When it comes to the question of “What is the worst-kept secret in major upcoming LEGO sets?” over the past few years, my immediate answer is “the LEGO Marvel SHIELD Helicarrier”. News of the LEGO Avengers Helicarrier set’s impending arrival has spread like wildfire for months, and every day someone has asked me when it will appear. Well, finally I can give a different answer today: the LEGO S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier 76042 has now been revealed!!
UPDATE 2/17/2015: The LEGO SHIELD Helicarrier is now available for order online! (Make sure you log into your LEGO VIP account, though, or it won’t show up!)

This set wasn’t allowed to be photographed before New York Toy Fair 2015 today, and wasn’t shown at all at some events this winter. But today, it can finally be fully revealed: it’s the LEGO Ant-Man Final Battle 76039 set!

Even though we’re still nearly three full months away from its arrival, merchandising for the Avengers Age of Ultron movie is in full swing and Avengers 2 fever is on the rise! I’m not immune to Avengers mania myself, so when I saw the 76029 LEGO Iron Man vs. Ultron set available online early, I jumped at the chance to grab my first LEGO Avengers Age of Ultron set! My review? LEGO 76029 is by far the cheapest set in the series–but that doesn’t mean it isn’t awesome…

With this being a quiet week (following last week’s blitzkrieg of LEGO news), I can finally dig in and continue to look at more of the LEGO Winter 2015 sets that are due out in the next one to two months. And the sets receiving the most buzz are, of course, the LEGO Avengers Age of Ultron sets. You might say “We just got a LEGO Quinjet movie three years ago–do we really need another?” But having spent some time examining this year’s LEGO Avengers Quinjet City Chase 76032 set, I think the answer is a resounding “yes”…

Though January 2015 has been an expensive month for LEGO fans, filled with new exclusives and new releases in popular themes like LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Chima and LEGO Justice League, many collectors are still feeling a bit of a void as they await the first LEGO Marvel 2015 sets. Themed for Avengers: Age of Ultron, the first 2015 LEGO Marvel sets still won’t arrive until late this winter. But as awesome as the LEGO 2015 catalog photos of the LEGO Avengers Age of Ultron sets were, I know plenty of fans have been dying to see some crisp, hi-res photos of the LEGO Marvel Age of Ultron sets. And while we still have to wait to buy it, the LEGO The Hulk Buster Smash 76031 photos have now appeared!
