The third and final one of the Winter 2014 LEGO Ninjago sets to have photos leaked out today is the LEGO Ninjago Thunder Raider 70723! The worst-kept secret in all of LEGO collecting in 2013 has been that the highly-successful LEGO Ninjago theme would be returning with all-new sets in January 2014! Teaser artwork had been released that showed Sensei Wu with a cyborg eye, so it’s been pretty commonly accepted that there was a LEGO Ninjago Cyborg theme in 2014–and now that appears to be confirmed! The first first 2013 LEGO Ninjago minifigure has leaked onto ebay, where he’s now available for sale early–it’s LEGO Ninjago General Cryptor the Cyborg Ninja!

I wasn’t exactly stoked about the Revenge of the Sith-centric LEGO Star Wars 2014 sets lineup that was revealed last week, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t looking forward to seeing photos of the sets in all their glory! I was pretty both happy and sad last week when the news broke that the LEGO Star Wars Planet Series had been canceled. I was sad because I thought the line still had some potential, but I was happy because its demise would lead to a new series of LEGO Star Wars Vehicle minis in 2014.

Some sad news today for LEGO Star Wars Collectors: the LEGO Star Wars Planets series of sets that began in 2012 has been canceled and will not be continuing on into 2014. We have already seen the end of the series, as no additional LEGO Star Wars Planets sets will be released besides those that already came out earlier this year. While perusing the net yesterday, I came across a rumored list of the upcoming 2014 LEGO The Simpsons sets scheduled to be released in Winter 2014 (late 2013 if we’re lucky). Upon seeing the list, my heart leaped for joy at the selection of sets chosen for the new LEGO Simpsons theme.
