One of the things that I really missed in this year’s LEGO Ninjago 2014 sets lineup was an elemental dragon for the individual Ninjago ninjas to fly around on (no, the spectacular Nindroid MechDragon–awesome as it is–doesn’t really count). In the olden days the team had amazing dragons like the Ninjago Lightning Dragon and Ice Dragon, but I thought that those were behind us. But in 2015, everything old is new again! The Anacondrai are returning to wreak havoc, and an old friend will be taking up the identity of the Titanium Ninjas and flying into battle atop the LEGO Ninjago Titanium Dragon 70748!

I thought that the 2014 LEGO Ninjago Rebooted theme was pretty cool with its hi-tech, futuristic take on Ninjago, but the LEGO Ninjago 2015 theme will be going back to basics with the tried-and-true formula of LEGO ninjas versus snake men! The most powerful and deadly of the Serpentine tribes–the Anacondrai–is back and bent on domination with their crazy serpent-headed aircraft. Luckily, the Ninjago team has a new recruit to help fight them off–the Ninjago Orange Ninja minifigures debuts with the LEGO Ninjago Anacondrai Copter Attack 70746 set!

It seems like only yesterday that the LEGO Ninjago theme made its triumphant return to stores, but it was actually almost a full six months ago that the Ninjago Rebooted LEGO sets hit stores. LEGO Ninjago made its fateful and much-anticipated return at the tail-end of 2013 with the LEGO Ninjago Rebooted theme. Six months later, LEGO is readying the second wave of the revived theme for release with the LEGO Ninjago Summer 2014 sets! While I was hanging out at the LEGO Store yesterday and taking photographs of all of the various The LEGO Movie sets, I wasn’t expecting to see anything else I hadn’t seen before. After all, the official release date for the majority of the LEGO 2014 sets isn’t until this Wednesday–1/1/2014–so there shouldn’t be anything else fresh out just yet.
Of course, this is all just a very long lead-in to me asserting that I was incorrect, and a set appeared before me for the very first time yesterday: the 2014 LEGO Ninjago Destructoid 70726 has now been released!

Though it was never my favorite theme, for some reason the return of Ninjago this winter has gotten me really jazzed for the LEGO Ninjago 2014 sets!

I had a hunch that we might be seeing the 2014 LEGO Ninjago winter sets sooner than later, and LEGO has now officially verified that! The online LEGO Store has now confirmed that we will be seeing the new LEGO Ninjago sets released on December 1st, 2013–just in time to give (or receive) the best LEGO Ninjago Christmas presents!
