Rarely is a LEGO set that isn’t some sort of exclusive and doesn’t have “LEGO Star Wars” in the name end up being one of the absolute most-anticipated LEGO sets of the year, and never has one of those sets contained mini-dolls instead of minifigures. Earlier this week I talked about what is almost unquestionably going to be the most-demanded and hottest-selling LEGO set of Winter 2015, the LEGO Frozen Elsa’s Sparkling Palace 41062 set. LEGO–like many, many other toy companies–really missed the boat last year when they decided not to have any LEGO Frozen sets at all in their 2013-2014 lineup. I’ve had people messaging me all year long asking me when a Frozen LEGO Disney Princess set would appear, and I’ve had to respond all year long with “hopefully 2015”. Do you wanna build a LEGO Snowman…? Disney’s Frozen blew away almost every other animated film ever made at the box office, but it still hasn’t had its day in the sun in LEGO form. I dropped by my nearest LEGO Store today to see if the rumors I’d heard were true–and they were! Many of the LEGO 2014 sets that have previously only been sighted at the inflated Toys R Us prices have arrived at local LEGO Stores. But that’s not all–there’s something magical at the LEGO Brand Stores as well, something that Toys R Us failed to beat them to the punch on–the entire wave of the LEGO Disney Princess 2014 sets!
