If ever there was a theme created that perfectly aligned with my environmental preferences, it’s last year’s LEGO Arctic sets. LEGO Polar Bears and white-and-orange, snow-themed LEGO Arctic vehicles? Sign me up. Aquatic, underwater exploration theme…? Not so much.

I sink like a brick in water and have a total hatred for underwater media due to all of the ridiculously hard aquatic levels in video games. Me and deep sea stuff–we don’t get along. That said, I imagine there are plenty of fans who are going to be absolutely delighted by the Summer 2015 LEGO Deep Sea Explorers sets, which have now been fully revealed!

LEGO City Town Square 60097 Revealed & Photos!

Generally speaking, my greatest LEGO theme loves tend to be action-oriented themes such as LEGO Chima and licensed themes like LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Harry Potter. Don’t get me wrong–I really do enjoy the classics like LEGO City, but rarely am I more excited about an upcoming LEGO City set than anything in the licensed themes. At the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2015, however, LEGO allowed photos for the first time of a set that’s topping my LEGO Summer 2015 sets wish list right now: the amazing LEGO City Town Square 60097!

I had to go out and combat the treacherous cold last night in a mighty quest for sugar-free Rock Star (don’t ask), and my voyage brought me back to my nearest Target store. The energy drink was obtained–but more importantly, I got my first look at the new Valentine’s Day section, and the two LEGO polybags in it… including the LEGO Friends Smoothie Cart 30302 and the brand-new LEGO Swamp Police Helicopter 30311!

February 2015 LEGO Store Calendar Promos, Deals & Events!

Ordinarily we have to wait until the final day of a month for LEGO to post the newest LEGO Store Calendar, but in this case, the final day of the month is also the final day of 2014! Everyone wants to have a fun and carefree final day of the year, and LEGO is apparently no exception! And so, one extra day early, the February 2015 LEGO Store calendar has now been posted!

There’s not a whole lot of surprises to sink our teeth into, but we do get confirmation of the rumored LEGO Driller promo–which turns out to be the free LEGO City Demolition Driller 30312 set!

Another question that I get in multitude each and every day is “When are the LEGO 2015 sets coming out?” And that’s another question where the answer is always “Not Yet”. But this week, that answer has changed! Holiday shoppers hoping for something totally fresh and new to stick under the tree this year can rejoice, because LEGO has now made well over a dozen new LEGO sets available: The 2015 LEGO City, LEGO Technic and LEGO Creator sets are all now available for order online!

I’m pretty open about the fact that I love the LEGO Arctic sets (not to mention the color orange), so I don’t think anyone will gasp at my admission that I’ve been buying all the 2014 LEGO Arctic sets. I’m holding off reviewing them until I get snow to take the review photos in (thank god I don’t need to take any more photos at the beach), but there’s at least one set that won’t be around in stores long enough for that. It was previously released in stores and sold out quickly, but a new shipment of LEGO Arctic Scout 30310 polybag sets has just arrived in Target stores!

LEGO City 2014 Advent Calendar Released in Stores & Photos!

I was ecstatic over the weekend when I unwittingly ended up stumbling upon my personal favorite of the yearly LEGO Advent Calendars: the LEGO Star Wars 2014 Advent Calendar! But while that licensed sci-fi version of the calendar is my favorite, I recognize that it’s not everyone’s. And in fact, there was another 2014 LEGO Advent Calendar that was selling even better at my nearest LEGO Store–and was almost wiped out on the shelf already! The LEGO City 2014 Advent Calendar 60063 set has now been released!

After a nearly uncountable number of LEGO sets were released over the course of the past two months, I think I went into a mini-withdrawal of a sort when there was absolutely nothing new in stores to talk about. Rather than enjoying the brief respite, I decided to head out to local stores to see if there was anything LEGO at all I hadn’t seen before. Alright, LEGO got me. I really and truly believed that the LEGO Arctic Ice Breaker 60062 set that I discussed a couple weeks back was the last of the Summer 2014 LEGO City Arctic sets. It seems I underestimated LEGO, though, as in actuality there is a seventh full-blown LEGO LEGO Arctic set on the way this summer, and it’s the second store exclusive for the theme. If you like bright orange planes, then you’re in luck–it’s the LEGO Arctic Supply Plane 60064!

LEGO could probably just produced a slightly-tweaked and only somewhat-new LEGO train set every year for the rest of time and the LEGO train sets would still sell like wildfire, so it’s no surprise that LEGO is capitalizing on demand for new trains with the all-new LEGO City High-Speed Passenger Train 60051 set this summer 2014! As a nearly-unlimited number of LEGO sets are released each year and I only have limited space and limited funds to buy them with, some compromise is necessary. As such, I generally stick to collecting licensed LEGO sets and specific LEGO action themes I like the most (like LEGO Ninjago and LEGO Chima). But sometimes the LEGO City theme knows just how to draw me in, and it’s with slice-of-life, everday sets that are just so mundane and commonplace that everyone can relate to them (even me).

One such set is coming as part of the LEGO City Summer 2014 sets–LEGO Train Station 60050!
