April really flew by, and now May is upon us! And that can mean just one thing (well, it means a variety of things, but…): the LEGO Store June 2014 Calendar is now available! Given all the thrills and excitement surrounding the May 2014 LEGO Store Calendar, you might think that June 2014 would be a letdown. However, that’s not so!

The LEGO Stores have a terrific free polybag promo lined up for us next month, as well as a variety of LEGO Summer 2014 sets being released… including a certain Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!!!

LEGO Stores have had some lackluster free promos in 2014, as well as some pretty smashing ones. But the one that LEGO revealed today may take the cake as being the best LEGO polybag set of 2014! Much like last year’s LEGO Hot Dog Stand was the best promo of 2013, another non-licensed LEGO promo polybag will step up to the plate next month and steal the honor of “best of the year”. LEGO Stores May 2014 Calendar: Promos, Sales and Events!

It’s April 1st, which means three things: 1) the LEGO Stores April 2014 Calendar of Promos, Sales and Events is now in effect; 2) It’s April Fool’s Day (don’t worry, I won’t prank anyone–I utterly detest this day); and 3) the May 2014 LEGO Store Calendar has now arrived!

Ordinarily, one of the high points of the whole month for me is posting scans of the next month’s LEGO Store calendar, complete with all of the sales, promotions, and events that will be going on at local LEGO Stores.

Well, the April 2014 LEGO Stores Calendar came out about two weeks ago, and I’m only now posting images of the calendar and bringing it up for discussion. Based on that knowledge, you would probably guess my excitement for the LEGO Store April 2014 calendar is fairly low, and you’d be right. For as long as I can remember LEGO producing LEGO Advent Calendars, I can remember hundreds of the various LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendars and LEGO City Advent Calendars accumulating into piles and sitting on stores shelves at clearance prices for months after the holidays are over. I always buy my Advent Calendar LEGO sets early (because I’m crazy), but I’ve also always taken for granted that there would be a surplus left in stores long after the holidays. Well… it looks like that isn’t the case anymore, as the 2013 LEGO Advent Calendars are totally sold out and becoming very expensive on the aftermarket…
