I feel like I’ve been stuck in a perpetual loop talking about the LEGO Simpsons Minifigure Series and LEGO The Simpsons episode of the TV series since last summer. But all of that will finally be coming to a permanent end in the next few days. The Simpsons LEGO Minifigures Series 71005 will be officially released in stores on Thursday, May 1st 2014, while the long-awaited The Simpsons LEGO Episode “Brick Like Me” will air on Sunday, May the 4th 2014. In anticipation of the episode’s premiere, a new poster and commercial for the episode have now been posted…
Earlier this week Fox revealed the official preview poster for the episode, which features what is most likely the first-ever image of Homer Simpson’s head flying through the air, separated from his body. As far as posters go, it’s “okay”, but nothing special. It’s sort of neat seeing the Simpsons family and their backyard in animated LEGO form, but the expressions on the characters’ faces seem a bit silly.
Far better than the Simpsons LEGO poster, however, is the episode trailer that was just released yesterday afternoon! “The Simpsons LEGO Spectacular” teaser trailer is downright crazy, and filled with nutty scenes like generic LEGO Ninja minifigures attacking, buildings crumbling into bricks, and LEGO Ned Flanders ripping his sons’ heads off!
I’m not expecting the Simpsons’ “Brick Like Me” episode to be anywhere near the masterpiece that “The LEGO Movie” was, but I do think it’s going to turn out to be loads of fun. I’ll look forwarding to seeing the episode premiere on Sunday 5/4/2014 at 8PM EST.
I think that this is pretty nice, it is smart for the show and Lego to cross promote. I have not really watched a lot of the Simpsons the last few years but I feel that might change here soon.
with that being said I like the wat that the minifigs looks WAY better than if they stuck with the way that the show is doing them. I understand that the show had to probably go through a much longer process to be done. I am jsut happy that Lego decided to make better heads.
