When the LEGO Store November 2014 calendar popped up unexpectedly early last week, one of the images on the calendar that really caught people’s eyes was a previously unseen LEGO Snowman set! Based on the lead time LEGO has on releasing LEGO seasonal sets before each holiday, it was pretty obvious that we’d be seeing the 2014 LEGO Seasonal Snowman set pretty soon. And lo and behold, one week later, here he is–and he didn’t come alone! The LEGO Reindeer 40092 and the LEGO Snowman 40093 have now been released!
The LEGO 40093 Snowman is just as heart-warming as he was on the November 2014 LEGO Store calendar, and what could have been a very dull LEGO set is made infinitely better by its scarf and removable top hat and broom. The little winter scenes on the back of the 40093 LEGO Snowman box are also really great and give this set some extra charm.
The 40093 LEGO Snowman set contains 140 pieces and sells for a super-low $9.99. That’s a crazy-low 7 cents per piece, making it one of the absolute best LEGO deals around! And speaking of great deals, the seasonal Snowman LEGO set brought a friend…
The back of the LEGO 40092 Reindeer set’s back has another series of winter scenes that give the little guy a lot of personality. Plus, the LEGO Snowman makes a cameo appearance!
I’m a total freak when it comes to collecting holiday LEGO sets and any kind of LEGO set that has anything to do with snow, so it took all of my willpower to not pick up the LEGO 2014 Seasonal sets at my local LEGO Store today. I’m waiting until there’s $99 or more in products I want so I can get a second LEGO Holiday Elf promo set, so I’m holding off on this duo (for the moment).
Now that they’re out in stores, are you planning to pick up the LEGO Seasonal Reindeer or Snowman sets for your holiday displays? Or are these brick-built holiday/winter icons just not your thing?
I’m gonna say it.
“Would you like to build a snowman?”
Hey! I am just wondering, would you consider these high on the list for a Lego investor this Christmas? If so which do you find better?
Honestly, I don’t consider these small seasonal sets to be good “investments”. As far as investing in LEGO Seasonal sets goes, you won’t do any better than the Winter Village and Holiday Promo sets.
Thanks for the tips!
