The moment of truth that most LEGO collectors dread each year has arrived: the San Diego Comic-Con 2015 exclusive LEGO Minifigures are now beginning to be announced! As usual, only a few hundred of each minifigure will be available at SDCC 2015, and you can only win them through a “random” lottery drawing. I was pleased when the Collector (an obscure, mostly unpopular character) was last year’s Marvel exclusive, but LEGO will not be making any friends this year with the SDCC 2015 Exclusive LEGO All-New Captain America Minifigure!
…But wait! There’s a catch. And it is not going to be a popular catch. And that catch is that you can’t even buy this figure at Comic-Con. You can only enter to try to win him at random. Just finding and getting into the line for these raffle drawings often involves fighting a crazed mob at SDCC, and actually managing to win one of these figures ends up being quite a feat.
But if you want this LEGO SDCC 2015 Captain America minifigure–and you don’t want to pay hundreds of dollars for him on ebay–then fighting the masses at San Diego Comic Con 2015 next month will be the one and only way to get him. Good luck!!
The All-New Captain America Sam Wilson LEGO minifigure will be given away via random lottery during one day of San Diego Comic Con 2015, although at this time we don’t know which day he will be available (and we very likely may not find that out until the convention begins, honestly). Falcon Captain America will be available on a Secret Wars cardback, although I’ve no idea why, since the character literally only appeared in a few panels of the first issue of the story. Hunh.
How do you feel about the selection of the new and much-loved Falcon Captain America minifigure as an ultra-limited exclusive, Marvel fans? Are you irate that such a hugely important character is going to be a convention exclusive, or are you okay with a comic book-only iteration of Captain America getting a limited release like this one?
I’m not quite as bothered for this exclusive.. If they had chien Spider-Gwen or Quicksilver with his jacket in AoU I would be destroyed! Thankfully I can live without this exclusive, still a shame for those at comic con can only raffle for it..
Great figure that I’ll never have a chance to buy! Wish all the exclusives would make the rounds through retail or Lego.com for all who want to purchase.
Scalper bait only benefits the scalpers! Make it available after a year or so to the rest of us!
Ehh i prefer my Captain America white :/
well, that’s just racist.
Yeah, one thing to say you prefer Steve Rogers as Cap (understandable), but saying you prefer Cap to be White is So. Not. Cool.

Not the first African American Capt America…please consult wikipedia.
Woo
Interesting choice. I was expecting a Spider-Gwen SDCC exclusive (with a white version of the Wyldstyle hoodie).
I much prefer con exclusives that are produced in quantities that will be enough for everyone willing to pay the inflated price. Lego does a lot of extremely limited stuff though, lately we’ve seen a lot of the sets that go only to Lego employees or people that go on the factory Inside Tour thing.
