Over the weekend we got our first glimpse at the LEGO Back to the Future Time Machine set coming out at the LEGO Store next month, but the lack of minifigures was a glaring omission. We were uncertain as to whether we’d be getting Back to the Future LEGO Minifigures at all, but we didn’t have to wait long to find out! It’s now confirmed that the LEGO Back to the Future Delorean set will be coming with Marty McFly and Doc Brown minifigures!

Just when I think the news coming out from LEGO can’t get any bigger, something even crazier happens! First LEGO revealed the enormous LEGO Tower of Orthanc. Then LEGO stunned Star Wars fans with the LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village, and followed it up with the reveal of the incredible Sydney Opera House. Now the first photos have leaked out of a set that, while not as large as the other recently announced sets, may be the biggest bombshell of all: it’s the LEGO Back to the Future Delorean car set, coming in July 2013!

We got a pretty surprise today, in the form of the first Warner Bros. The LEGO Movie trailer and movie poster being released! Now, it’s not surprising that Warner Bros. is working on a 2014 LEGO Movie–we’ve known about that for a while. No, what makes this a “good surprise” is that based on the teaser trailer, it looks like The LEGO Movie might actually be good!

When I first heard the rumors that LEGO was going to release a Lord of the Rings Council of Elrond set this year, immediately I started having visions of a huge, sprawling LEGO Rivendell set dancing in my head (about the size of the newly announced LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village). Back in April, when the very first LEGO Minifigures Series 10 LEGO Mr. Gold minifigure hit the aftermarket and immediately sold for over a thousand dollars, I was astonished. A limited edition of 5000 is a huge number, well beyond the edition size that most toy companies produce for convention and store exclusives, limited products, and high-end items.

Last week I was a bit frustrated when my search for the new Summer 2013 LEGO Castle sets turned up all the new summer LEGO sets except for the one I was looking for: 70403 LEGO Dragon Mountain.
