As soon as word leaked out regarding the release of this year’s LEGO Creator Expert Mini Cooper 10242, LEGO fans began speculating about the possibility that LEGO would release a LEGO Mini Mini Cooper (Mini Cooper Mini?) as a promotional item alongside the LEGO Mini Cooper 10242. The LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie sets aren’t supposed to be officially released until next week (July 1st, 2014), but that isn’t stopping the world’s largest online retailer from getting the drop on all of their competitors! To the dismay of many, the only way to get LEGO minifigures of all four movie TMNT turtles will be to buy multiple sets–and none of them are cheap. But thanks to a pretty nifty pre-order discount, you can get the classic-inspired LEGO Turtle Van and the other two LEGO TMNT movie sets for at least a bit off their retail prices!

LEGO books are sort of funny. Unlike basically every other line of books on the market, just as many (if not more) people buy each LEGO book released not for the books themselves (many don’t even read them), but for the bonus exclusive LEGO minifigure packaged with the book. Earlier in the month I fell in love with the exclusive LEGO Firox minifigure packed with the LEGO Chima Dictionary, but today we finally got photographic confirmation of a figure that will likely appeal to a lot more people: the LEGO Star Wars The Dark Side exclusive LEGO Emperor Palpatine minifigure!

After a nearly uncountable number of LEGO sets were released over the course of the past two months, I think I went into a mini-withdrawal of a sort when there was absolutely nothing new in stores to talk about. But not only are there the line-revitalizing LEGO Chima Fire vs. Ice sets to look forward to, but the highly-anticipated LEGO Legends of Chima Character Encyclopedia is now up for order! Following up my discussions of the LEGO Mixels Series 3 Glorp Corp Green Tribe and Purple Wiztastics Tribe, it’s time to talk about the last new tribe coming in the Series 3 LEGO Mixels (which, non-coincidentally, is also the final known LEGO Mixels tribe for 2014). While the other two new tribes in LEGO Mixels Series 3 have some rather “unnatural” themes (slimy boogers and supernatural magic), the theme for the LEGO Mixels Tan Tribe is a lot more down to earth. Yesterday I discussed the very gross LEGO Mixels Series 3 Green Glorp Corp Tribe, so today let’s discuss an upcoming tribe that I like quite a bit more (and which, thankfully, is not booger-related). There aren’t too many colors yet to not have their own tribe, so no one is surprised to see the LEGO Mixels Purple Tribe making their debut this summer.
But not only is this tribe the color of royalty (and plums), but they have one of the coolest themes: magic! Coming August 2014–the LEGO Mixels Series 3 Wiztastics!

As of yesterday, LEGO Mixels Series 2 has now officially been released in all stores. And that means that the Mixels Series 2 LEGO sets are old news, and it’s time to look ahead to LEGO Mixels Series 3! Not to be outdone, LEGO Mixels Series 3 will include three all-new Mixels tribes of all-new colors (new to Mixels, not the world). And the LEGO Mixels Green Tribe just may be the weirdest and most random of them all, because as far as I can tell, the LEGO Green Mixels Glorp Corp figures might be… booger themed?!

LEGO has really spoiled us in recent months by having the following month’s LEGO Store Calendar available promptly on the first of each month. So I felt a silly twinge of loss and disappointment yesterday when I discovered that the new July 2014 LEGO Stores calendar was in fact not yet available.
