Remember that stuff I said yesterday about how I was highly dubious that the three previously-unseen LEGO The Hobbit 2014 winter sets would be released before November 2014…? Yeah–scratch that. As it turns out–and to the shock of LEGO collectors everywhere–all four LEGO The Hobbit 2014 sets have now suddenly been released at various Toys R Us stores in the United States! Now that they’re actually in stores and being sold, we can finally take a look at the new LEGO Hobbit sets–starting with the LEGO Witch-King Battle 79015!

The past two years, LEGO released the Hobbit sets just in time for holiday shoppers to rush out and buy them! But this year, LEGO is doing things a little bit differently. While I don’t expect that we’ll see all four of the LEGO Hobbit 2014 sets released at once, at least one of the sets coming our way is going to be out in just over one month’s time! Scheduled for release on October 15th, 2014–it’s the LEGO The Lonely Mountain 79018 set… with LEGO Smaug Dragon!

Ever have one of those days where several people have let you know about a LEGO set you haven’t heard of before, you then drive around for three hours fruitlessly searching for it, end up ordering said LEGO set online, and then have the realization that it’s a set from last year and you already own it…? That’s pretty much my day today in a nutshell, as I went on an epic failed quest to find the newly reissued LEGO Halloween Pumpkin 40055 set that was originally released in 2013!

Last night I chatted up a storm about the newly-reissued LEGO Arctic Scout 30310 polybag set that’s just started to hit stores again this past week. But of course, that’s not the only LEGO polybag making the rounds in the build-up to Halloween–and it’s definitely not going to be the most popular one! Though it’s also been briefly available before, the LEGO set arriving in stores now to accompany the LEGO 30310 Arctic Scout is going to be a hot one–the LEGO Batman Batwing 30301 polybag is now flying back onto shelves!

I’m pretty open about the fact that I love the LEGO Arctic sets (not to mention the color orange), so I don’t think anyone will gasp at my admission that I’ve been buying all the 2014 LEGO Arctic sets. I’m holding off reviewing them until I get snow to take the review photos in (thank god I don’t need to take any more photos at the beach), but there’s at least one set that won’t be around in stores long enough for that. It was previously released in stores and sold out quickly, but a new shipment of LEGO Arctic Scout 30310 polybag sets has just arrived in Target stores!

If you’re hoping for original trilogy LEGO Star Wars sets you may be disappointed, but if you’re looking forward to new LEGO Star Wars MicroFighters, Rebels or Troop Builder sets, you’ll be pleased with early 2015…

LEGO City 2014 Advent Calendar Released in Stores & Photos!

I was ecstatic over the weekend when I unwittingly ended up stumbling upon my personal favorite of the yearly LEGO Advent Calendars: the LEGO Star Wars 2014 Advent Calendar! But while that licensed sci-fi version of the calendar is my favorite, I recognize that it’s not everyone’s. And in fact, there was another 2014 LEGO Advent Calendar that was selling even better at my nearest LEGO Store–and was almost wiped out on the shelf already! The LEGO City 2014 Advent Calendar 60063 set has now been released!
