LEGO seems to have sprung a leak (so to speak), as images of the LEGO Winter 2015 sets are now being revealed fast and furiously! Yesterday we saw all the LEGO Movie 2015 sets, and today it looks like it’s DC’s turn! The LEGO DC Super Heroes 2015 theme sets have now appeared, and while it doesn’t contain any new hero minifigures, the LEGO Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas 76026 set gives us a pair of new super-villains: LEGO Grodd and Captain Cold!

Up until July 2014, all LEGO fans had to accept the supposed fact that there would be now more The LEGO Movie sets after the Summer 2014 LEGO Movie sets wave hit stores. And then a funny thing happened– LEGO debuted a handful of LEGO 2015 sets at San Diego Comic-Con 2014… and one of them was from The LEGO Movie! Before The LEGO Movie hit theaters in February, LEGO said that there were no plans at that time to continue the LEGO Movie theme past 2014. But that was before The LEGO Movie actually hit theaters and became insanely, outrageously successful and sent crowds of customers to the LEGO Stores like never before! Well, this was unlikely. Ordinarily, you wouldn’t expect a LEGO polybag set that’s been given away at the LEGO Store for two consecutive months to show up for sale at mass retail. So when someone messaged me to let me know that they’d found the 30265 LEGO Legends of Chima Worriz’ Fire Bike set at their local Target store, I thought maybe it was a freak accident shipment. Nope! One of my personal favorite LEGO themes will be entering its third year in 2015, and LEGO has some great things planned to celebrate the event! Though the LEGO Legends of Chima theme met with a lot of harsh opposition to begin with (especially from those who felt like it was going to replace LEGO Ninjago), LEGO Chima has persevered. And LEGO has some big things planned for the third year of LEGO Legends of Chima, as the LEGO Chima 2015 sets will include the first-ever Tiger Tribe vehicle, long-demanded Tribe Minifigure Packs and the much-anticipated debut of Chima Bear Tribe Minifigures!

By this point, we all know the drill when it comes to LEGO Minifigures Series. Each series has an “official” release date. But let’s get real–when was the last time that a ton of stores all over the country (including the LEGO Stores themselves) didn’t slip and put boxes out early, leading to loads of people completing their LEGO Minifigures Series before the street date even arrives? Good for LEGO collectors–bad for LEGO street dates. That trend will continue, as the 71007 LEGO Minifigures Series 12 blind bags have now turned up in mass for sale online and in some stores!

Because I am absolutely psychotic when it comes to collecting, I stayed up and ordered the 2014 LEGO Winter Village Santa’s Workshop set online the night that it became available out of some irrational fear that every LEGO Store in my area would be sold out by the time I got there in the morning. So… now I have to wait. But since I couldn’t bear not getting to at least see the LEGO Winter Village 2014 set with my own eyes on launch day, I ended up heading to the LEGO Store anyway, where LEGO Santa’s Workshop 10245 has now been released!

Once the LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham video game was announced for release, I knew that 2015 was going to be a huge year for the LEGO Batman (LEGO DC Super Heroes) line of sets. And as is sometimes the case (I’m batting about 70/30 lately), my prediction was right. However, LEGO has completed blown away all of my expectations–the 2015 LEGO DC Superheroes sets contain unquestionably best wave of LEGO DC Minifigures that we’ve ever gotten! The first-ever LEGO minifigures of Darkseid, Brainiac, and Supergirl–and even the return of LEGO Green Arrow–are coming our way in January 2015!

A late-summer not-quite-Christmas miracle occurred last week: LEGO fully-unveiled the LEGO Winter Village 2014 set–LEGO Santa’s Workshop 10245! LEGO might have liked to have kept this set a surprise, but unfortunately (for them, not us) the first photo of the LEGO Winter Village Santa’s Workshop set leaked out way back in May. That photo was pretty grainy, and I’ve been looking forward to seeing the Santa’s Workshop LEGO set in all its hi-res glory ever since–and now, I finally can! The 10245 LEGO Santa’s Workshop set has now been revealed!

The last of the four LEGO The Hobbit The Battle of The Five Armies sets that’s just been released at Toys R Us stores in the past few days is none other than, well… the LEGO The Battle of Five Armies 79017 set! This is the second-biggest of the fall 2014 LEGO Hobbit sets, and comes with more minifigures than any other LEGO The Hobbit set this year!

Now that LEGO has begun shipping to the LEGO The Hobbit The Battle of the Five Armies sets to stores (which, in turn, are now selling the sets), there’s nothing stopping us from finally discussing this late 2014 LEGO Hobbit sets!
Next up is the LEGO Attack on Lake-Town 79016 set, which is the second-smallest of the sets in this wave. While the minifigure selection that comes with LEGO 79016 is a little bit bland, I think long-time LEGO The Hobbit collectors are going to have a blast pairing this set off with last year’s portion of Lake-Town…
