LEGO Ideas fans of licensed sets, rejoice! The review board has completed the second round of LEGO Ideas set reviews for the sets that earned 10,000 votes of support in 2014, and the result are in.
While all of the sets from preexisting themes like LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Marvel well rejected once again (and will almost certainly continue to be), one set did pass the review: the LEGO WALL-E set, from the Disney-Pixar classic animated film!

If ever there was a theme created that perfectly aligned with my environmental preferences, it’s last year’s LEGO Arctic sets. LEGO Polar Bears and white-and-orange, snow-themed LEGO Arctic vehicles? Sign me up. Aquatic, underwater exploration theme…? Not so much.
I sink like a brick in water and have a total hatred for underwater media due to all of the ridiculously hard aquatic levels in video games. Me and deep sea stuff–we don’t get along. That said, I imagine there are plenty of fans who are going to be absolutely delighted by the Summer 2015 LEGO Deep Sea Explorers sets, which have now been fully revealed!

LEGO must have decided that we were growing complacent, so they decided to throw us a curveball and switch things up a bit this month! While we can usually count on the next month’s LEGO Store Calendar being posted online one month and one day ahead of time, we get merely one month’s notice of the upcoming March 2015 LEGO Store deals, promos and events.
But while waiting the extra day was agony, at least LEGO has some good stuff cooked up for us on the LEGO Store March 2015 Calendar–including two free promos, some major new sets being launched–and the return of Double VIP Points!

Just when I thought that we might be done seeing new LEGO sets until the deluge of information at the New York Toy Fair 2015 next month, images of another pair of sets shown off at the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2015 have made themselves known online! Two of the five LEGO Scooby-Doo sets were revealed last month, and now another two have made their exciting debut: it’s the LEGO Scooby-Doo Haunted Lighthouse 75903 and Mystery Plane Adventures 75901 sets!

Generally speaking, my greatest LEGO theme loves tend to be action-oriented themes such as LEGO Chima and licensed themes like LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Harry Potter. Don’t get me wrong–I really do enjoy the classics like LEGO City, but rarely am I more excited about an upcoming LEGO City set than anything in the licensed themes. At the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2015, however, LEGO allowed photos for the first time of a set that’s topping my LEGO Summer 2015 sets wish list right now: the amazing LEGO City Town Square 60097!

We’re just two and a half weeks from the biggest toy event of 2015: the International Toy Fair 2015 in New York City! But while the New York Toy Fair may be this year’s biggest toy show, Europe is already getting its own fair share of toy events to kick off the new year. While the 2015 Nuremberg Toy Fair in Germany won’t officially begin until tomorrow, some photos from the event are already beginning to circulate online: including several of the LEGO Ninjago 2015 sets, such as the all-new Morro Dragon and revisited Destiny’s Bounty sets!

With this being a quiet week (following last week’s blitzkrieg of LEGO news), I can finally dig in and continue to look at more of the LEGO Winter 2015 sets that are due out in the next one to two months. And the sets receiving the most buzz are, of course, the LEGO Avengers Age of Ultron sets. With the copious amount of surprise LEGO products for the second half of 2015 that popped up over the last few days, I haven’t had a chance to sit back and talk about some of the newly-revealed hi-res images of the most highly-anticipated sets coming in the first half of 2015. If anyone had told me a year ago that there would be LEGO Scooby-Doo sets coming in 2015, I would have thought that they were out of their minds. But that was before LEGO became the most successful toy manufacturer in the world, and before we knew the Scooby-Doo franchise was getting ready for a resurrection (again). Though January 2015 has been an expensive month for LEGO fans, filled with new exclusives and new releases in popular themes like LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Chima and LEGO Justice League, many collectors are still feeling a bit of a void as they await the first LEGO Marvel 2015 sets. Themed for Avengers: Age of Ultron, the first 2015 LEGO Marvel sets still won’t arrive until late this winter. But as awesome as the LEGO 2015 catalog photos of the LEGO Avengers Age of Ultron sets were, I know plenty of fans have been dying to see some crisp, hi-res photos of the LEGO Marvel Age of Ultron sets. And while we still have to wait to buy it, the LEGO The Hulk Buster Smash 76031 photos have now appeared!

It’s hard for me to believe, but it’s almost been an entire year since I was in New York City for the the New York Toy Fair 2014! But while there’s less than a month until I head back to NYC for this year’s event, the fun has already started overseas!
The London Toy Fair 2015 took place this week, and the news is rolling in–including confirmation that the long-demanded LEGO Iron Spider Man and Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales minifigures are coming in LEGO Marvel sets this summer!

Earlier this month, images leaked out from Hong Kong of a previously-unannounced LEGO Bain minifigure. With no new LEGO The Hobbit sets scheduled for release in 2015, it seemed almost certain that this exclusive Bain figure would be the pack-in for this year’s Target Exclusive The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies DVD/Blu-Ray Combo Pack. And as it so happens–it is! But why settle for one free LEGO Minifigure when you can have two?! A LEGO Bard the Bowman minifigure will also be included with the set!
