We may not have even made it into the month of Halloween yet, but it looks like almost all of the Christmas-themed brick sets for the remainder of 2015 have been revealed! The Winter Toy Shop is in stores now, the Winter Train promo will be arriving next month, and come November 1st, we’ll be able to get our hands on the LEGO Winter Fun 40124 and LEGO Santa’s Visit 40125 seasonal sets!
2015 has been an amazing year for LEGO Store-exclusive seasonal vignette sets for the various holidays, and it looks like TLG is planning to end the year with a bang with two all-new vignette sets! The Thanksgiving Feast holiday set I discussed say month has leaked out into some stores early, and the back of the instructions reveal a special surprise: the new two holiday sets!
For those looking for something new Christmas-specific, there’s 40125 Santa’s Visit. And for those who just want some all-purpose winter fun, there’s, well… 40124 Winter Fun!
The set includes two child minifigures, a brick-built snowman, a red snowmobile and a husky. Where I come from, we don’t let small children terrorize their peers on snowmobiles, but I guess things have changed since I was a kid (when dinosaurs roamed the Earth).
It would have been nice if a new Snowman mini figure had been produced for this set, but alas–new tooling does not happen for these value-priced seasonal sets (as delightful as that would be).
The husky figure was introduced last year for the Arctic theme and has made a couple of appearances since. I’m a big fan of this mold, and I love seeing it in such a low-priced set that everyone can afford!
Meanwhile, the 40125 LEGO Santa’s Visit set just may be my very favorite of all the exceptional seasonal vignette sets that TLG has produced in 2015! The scene here is an adorable decorated living room fire place that is just bursting with details and holiday decorations!
This set only includes one minifigure–a rare Santa minifigure that’s not packed with an Advent Calendar–but it also contains a cat figurine, a brick-built mini Christmas tree, a chair and a table with refreshments for Santa Claus (who’s gonna get awful fat if he eats at the house of every child in the world). I have more than a few LEGO Santa figures already, but I never get tired of them–and this set is just darling! I love it!
The LEGO Winter Fun 40124 and Santa’s Visit 40125 sets should be officially available November 1st 2015 exclusively online and in the officially-branded chain LEGO Stores. Both sets should retail for the standard price of $9.99, but beware–these sets are almost guaranteed to be crazily-popular and sell out quickly. Buy these early if you want them!
What do you think of the LEGO 2015 Christmas seasonal vignette sets, brick fans? Is this a worthwhile way to cap off this year’s collection of holiday scenes, and will you be adding either (or both!) these sets to your collection?
