The now-defunct LEGO Agents theme proved to be so popular and beloved by fans that LEGO is reviving the theme this summer with the new 2014 LEGO Ultra Agents sets! LEGO has upped the craziness ante with these Ultra Agents LEGO sets that will be arriving in August 2014, and one of the wackiest sets in the summer wave will be the 70163 LEGO Ultra Agents Toxikita’s Toxic Meltdown set!
Three of the four minifigures are exclusive to this set, with only the new LEGO Jack Fury figure (any relation to Rex Fury, I wonder?) coming with another Summer 2014 LEGO Ultra Agents set.
The look of Toxikita’s Copter is completely unique and wildly imaginative–like no LEGO helicopter I’ve ever seen before! With the translucent lime green hatches, caution stripes and bright yellow primary color of the helicopter, this is truly a sight to behold. It’s a bit garish to be sure, but far and away one of the most fun LEGO copters I can remember ever being released.
The other main portion of this set appears to be some sort of nuclear power plant/science lab playset. This is a bit bland and not nearly as cool as the Hulk Lab Smash set released this winter. The most intriguing part of this diorama is the little robot with arms who can handle the radioactive rods (a la Homer Simpson).
I griped a bit about the price-point on the LEGO Ultra Agents Riverside Raid set that I discussed earlier today, as that set went over my “value-meter” of ten cents per piece. The LEGO 70163 Toxikita’s Toxic Meltdown set fares much better, as the 429 piece set will retail for $39.99. At about 9 cents per piece, this set is a much better value, which always makes me smile.
The LEGO Ultra Agents Toxikita’s Toxic Meltdown 70163 set is scheduled to be released in August 2014. I’ll post official photos of the set when LEGO releases them, and you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have future LEGO news and updates sent right to your Facebook Newsfeed!
Are you liking this wacky upcoming LEGO Ultra Agents 70163 Toxikita’s Toxic Meltdown set, LEGO fans? Will you be making a spot in your collection for this set later this year?
