Have you been saving your pennies (okay, dollars) since the LEGO Lord of the Rings Tower of Orthanc 10237 set was announced back in April? I sure hope so, because even though the set isn’t scheduled to be released to the general public until next month, LEGO is now offering exclusive early access to the set! If you’ve been waiting and dreaming and wishing for the chance to own the humongous LEGO Tower of Orthanc, the time has come–and you can even get an awesome LEGO Orthanc poster!
As a perk to LEGO collectors who have joined the free LEGO VIP Program, LEGO is offering the amazing 10237 LEGO Tower of Orthanc exclusive set for sale two weeks early! The Tower of Orthanc is available only to LEGO VIP Members during the month of June 2013. If you want to get the set, all you need to do is log into the LEGO Online Store using your LEGO VIP ID number and purchase the set like usual. If you’re not a LEGO VIP member, you can join instantly and free on the LEGO Online Store right now!
Not only is LEGO letting Lord of the Rings fans buy the magnificent Tower of Orthanc super set two weeks early, but there’s also an exclusive free poster featuring LEGO Saruman and Grima Wormtongue next to Orthanc that’s being given away to LEGO VIPs who order the set during this VIP Early Access Period! I hadn’t really budgeted in purchasing LEGO 10237 this month, but man, do I ever want that poster!
The 10237 LEGO LOTR Tower of Orthanc is the final one of the five LEGO Lord of the Rings Summer 2013 sets to be released. The Tower of Orthanc is comprised of 2,359 pieces and stands over two feet tall! It’s also the only place to get the LEGO Treebeard the Ent and LEGO Grima Wormtongue minifigures.
I try to shy away from space-consuming LEGO sets, but I knew the moment this set was revealed it’d be going on a shelf in my office–there was never any doubt. The only question is whether or not it’ll be coming home this month or next!
The LEGO Lord of the Rings Tower of Orthanc 10237 set will go on sale to non-VIP members on July 1, 2013, but will still only be available through the online LEGO Store and official LEGO Stores. Don’t assume you’ll get the set at a sale price at Target or Toys R Us, as the set is never going to be released in those stores. You can check out the Tower of Orthanc LEGO Set & Free Poster and place your orders now on LEGO Shop at Home.
