LEGO TMNT 2014 Karai Bike Escape 79118 Revealed & Photos!

While we’ve been enduring the agonizing wait time for the arrival of the 2014 LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets, we’ve previously uncovered images of three out of the four sets. A fourth set containing the Shredder’s daughter, Karai, has been rumored since last year, but no photos of that set had surfaced… until now! We’re still going to have to wait a few months for its arrival, but in the meantime, we can now all oogle the newly-revealed LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Karai Bike Escape 79118 set!

LEGO 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Karai Bike Escape 79118If there’s one character that has been a surprise standout in the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series, it’s Karai. While Karai had been around in the 2003 TMNT cartoon and the comic books, she was always a bit, well… boring… to read about. But–! In the new Nick TMNT cartoon, Karai has gained a fun attitude and a charisma that she never had before (as well as a totally believable love/hate relationship with Leonardo!).

Nick Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Karai and Leonardo Screenshot It’s for these reasons that I’ve been looking forward to a Karai action figure ever since she debuted in the Ninja Turtles cartoon on Nickelodeon last year. Unfortunately, Playmates Toys has failed to produce a 5″ Karai figure, despite making many more obscure and less popular figures. But once again–it’s LEGO to the rescue! In just a few short months, the LEGO Karai minifigure will be released–only the second-ever toy of Karai! Karai includes a great face and an interesting hairpiece.

Of course, Karai isn’t the only thing you get in this set (just the best!). The set will also include a battle-damaged Leonard minifigure, a newspaper, a mutagen can, a LEGO newspaper, a vending machine, and even an exploding road sign! I actually really like the beaten-up looking LEGO Leonardo figure–I wouldn’t mind having battle-damaged versions of all four TMNT minifigures!

The set should retail in stores for $12.99, and is expected to be released sometime in Q2 2014.   1. Very similar to the second Catwoman set out of the Batman series. That’s not a bad thing.

  2. Best one out of the new ones we’ve seen so far.
    the rocket is weird. the t-sub could be interesting…I want to see the interior.
    the lab and this one are great though. More small interesting kits. Forget the vehicles…EXCEPT THE TURTLE BLIMP….from the original cartoon….HEAR ME MIGHTY LEGO LORDS AND PLEASE GRANT MY WISH

  3. Loving the Ninja Turtle lego minifigures. Wish they had these when I was a kid. Really glad they are releasing this small set with Leo, as the only way to get him prior to now is in the more expensive larger sets. He will complete my collection of the quartet. Totally not digging all these vehicles, though. The shredder bike (WTF??), Raf’s tricycle thing… I mean, they are ridiculous. They need to make more structure based sets and stop with these lame vehicles. They are not bad vehicles, but to me, they don’t fit well with the ninja turtles.
