LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary book has been wildly successful since its release in 2009, selling over two million copies in just half a decade! With those kind of huge sales, I don’t think it comes as a surprise to anyone that DK Publishing has an updated version of the book in the works. And not only is the LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary Updated and Revised book available for pre-order now for 25% off and free shipping, but we’ve also just learned the identity of the much-debated exclusive LEGO Stat Wars minifigure included with the book…
While most fans had assumed that the new LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary minifigure would be, well… new, DK Publishing has apparently decided to go in completely the other direction. To commemorate the 15th Anniversary of LEGO Stat Wars (no, really–LEGO Star Wars sets began coming out way back in 1999), the book will include a reissue of the LEGO Tatooine Luke Skywalker minifigure that was originally packed in with the LEGO Star Wars Landspeeder 7110 set from 1999.
I am genuinely irritated that the “exclusive” minifigure is actually just an old figure re-released. While producing a new run of a yellow-skinned LEGO Star Wars minifigure is a sort of cute idea, I would have much preferred a never-before-done figure, personally.
How do you like the choice of a commemorative Tatooine Luke Skywalker minifigure as the exclusive minifigure pack-in with the updated LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary, LEGO collectors? Do you like the idea of reissuing one of the first-ever LEGO Star Wars figures in honor of the 15th Anniversary of LEGO Star Wars, or were you hoping for something fresh and all-new instead?
The minifig is crap. I am wholly irritated that this is not an unreleased fig.
Why can’t they include a chrome Bobo Fett or a pink Darth Vader
I laud the idea, as a person who misses the yellow on licenses.
