Some of you have been worried that I’ve abandoned you, but fret not–I have returned! With the annual post-San Diego Comic-Con LEGO news drought in full effect, I decided to take advantage of the lull to take a (unfortunately crummy) vacation. But I can never go LEGO-free for too long, and during the first day of my trip, I picked up a previously rare polybag! The LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle 30246 has now been re-released!
In spring 2014, the 30246 LEGO Imperial Shuttle set showed up in the Meijers chain of stores in the United States. While Meijers is widespread in some areas, throughout all my travels I’ve never seen one in my entire life.
I was hoping that the 2014 LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle polybag would show up in greater numbers at a more national chain, but after nearly half a year of waiting, I had almost forgotten the set existed at all.
I stopped at a friendly Target store while on vacation, and sure enough, almost every checkout line was loaded with Imperial Shuttle LEGO sets! I snapped up an Imperial Shuttle for myself for $3.99 (review coming soon), and confirmed that the LEGO Imperial Shuttle are only being stocked at the checkout aisles and nowhere else in the store.
The licensed polybags such as the previous LEGO Batman Tumbler polybag tend to sell out much faster at many Target store than the LEGO City polybags which seems to sit on the shelves for an infinite amount of time, so be sure to grab an Imperial Shuttle LEGO Star Wars polybag from your local Target store soon if you want one.
Are you happy to see the LEGO 30246 Imperial Shuttle set getting a wider release, LEGO fans? Who’ll be picking up this set from their local Target store (and who already has)?
I picked one up today. I wanted to get it before some scalper got them all.
