LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village 10236 Fully Revealed w/ Video & Photos!

After we finally got confirmation that the LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village 10236 set scheduled for Summer 2013 was in fact real, I wasn’t sure how I was going to cope with my impatience to know each and every detail about the upcoming LEGO Star Wars mega set. Luckily, LEGO Star Wars collectors didn’t have long to wait, as today LEGO let the cat (or Ewoks) out of the bag, and fully revealed every detail about the 10236 LEGO Ewok Village set coming our way in just a few months, with high-resolution photos and even video!

LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village 10236 Box 2013Man, just look at that beauty! I can say without bias and without hyperbole that this LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village 10236 is my favorite LEGO Star Wars set of all-time, and is in the running to be one of my favorite sets ever period. And that’s without me ever even having had the chance to build the set or even see it in person!

Summer 2013 LEGO Ewok Village Set 10236 Fully Expanded Trees and BridgeWhen I reported on the confirmation of this Star Wars LEGO Ewok Village 10236 set last week, I speculated that I’d be thrilled if the set was comprised of more than two trees. LEGO outdid itself, as you get four huge trees that make up the basis for the rest of the huge Ewok Village set!

LEGO Star Wars Summer 2013 Ewok Village 10236 Exclusive Set Without MinifiguresWithout the LEGO Star Wars minifigures in the way, you can see more of the great little details that went into this set–my favorite of which being the Stormtrooper severed heads drum set in the middle of the village! (What, you didn’t really think they were just Stormtrooper helmets right?) There’s a capture net to reel in any Imperial (or rebel!) invaders, a beautiful rope bridge, and so much more here.

Back View of Star Wars LEGO Ewok Village 10236 Summer 2013 SetI was hoping LEGO wouldn’t waste too many pieces on non-canonical things that shouldn’t be in the Ewok Village, and those are kept to an acceptable minimum here. The Ewok battering ram trap for Imperial Stormtroopers and Biker Scouts minifigures seems a bit out of place, but I can easily cope with it and I don’t feel like it detracts from the majesty of this set at all.

LEGO Star Wars Ewok Minifigures from Ewok Village 10236 Wicket Logray Teebo Chief ChirpaThe only immensely disappointing part of this immense LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village set is the actual selection of LEGO Ewok minifigures that are included. Of the sixteen minifigures that are included, only five are Ewoks, and three out of the five are previously released Ewoks! The LEGO Wicket, Logray, and Chief Chirpa minifigures have all been previously released, so the LEGO Teebo and generic LEGO Ewok Warrior are the only truly new Ewoks minifigures included in this $250 set. Thanks a lot, LEGO!

LEGO Minifigures from Star Wars LEGO 10236 Ewok Village 2013 SetIn total, there are 16 LEGO Minifigures included in this set, which comes fairly close to a record. You get LEGO Minifigures of Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight Outfit), Princess Leia (Ewok Village Dress), Han Solo (Endor Attire), Chewbacca, C-3PO, R2-D2, Wicket, Logray, Teebo, Chief Chirpa, an Ewok Warrior, Biker Scouts (2), Stormtroopers (2), and Rebel Commandos (2). That’s quite a haul, but I would have happily foregone a couple of main characters to get more Ewoks minifigures instead.

LEGO Ewok Village Leia Minifigure with Braided Hair and Dress 10236The coolest minifigure included with the set is definitely the new LEGO Princess Leia Minifigure in Ewok Dress with Braided Hair. This figure is downright gorgeous, and I think the soft goods dress on Leia really looks great! And yes, Leia has a reversible head with “angry scowl” action!

LEGO C-3PO on Throne with Ewoks Minifigures from LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village 201236I never had a single speck of doubt that we would get a LEGO C-3PO minifigure on his Ewok Deity throne, so I’m not a bit surprised to see him here on his throne. It’s a pity there’s not more LEGO Ewoks to worship their golden droid God! And yes, there is a levitating thrown action feature built in–the Ewoks better be careful they don’t anger C-3PO and make him use his magic!!

2013 LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village Ewoks Roast Han Solo Minifigure Over FireAlso, though I was a bit concerned that LEGO would think it was too morbid to include in this set, the Ewok Village Fire Pit has in fact been recreated in LEGO form as part of LEGO 10236, and thus children of all ages can recreate Han Solo being roasted action, straight out of Return of the Jedi (sort of)! YUB NUB!!!

Can’t get enough of the upcoming LEGO Ewok Village? LEGO was kind enough to provide the video above so LEGO Star Wars fans can really start salivating over the extreme level of details, features, and coolness packed into this truly awesome LEGO Return of the Jedi themed set!

LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village 10236 Fully Revealed w/ Video & Photos! — 6 Comments

  1. Does anyone ever read the comments other than the Halo ones? 😉
Looking at this set – makes me think Lego should do Blind bag minifigs for some of it’s bigger ranges. It would help army builders and sort out how to get things like extra Ewoks to the collectors.

    • I read them! Do I count? 😀

I’m not sure why people don’t leave as many comments on this site. God knows it gets massively more traffic than Halo Toy News.

Anyway, LEGO is forbidden to ever release LEGO Star Wars minifigures individually–it violates the terms of LEGO’s license with Lucasfilm. That’s why there’s never been a battle pack released without some sort of doofy little vehicle. Man, would I love some LEGO Star Wars blind bags, though…!

      • that’s a shame – I wonder why they are tied like that. Obviously it hasn’t been like that for Mega Bloks who release blind bags for their specific ranges.
I’d have thought Lego would get good returns on Blind Bags for Star Wars, LotR, DC/Marvel, and Chima.

  2. minor point – on the Halo Toy News – it’s a little easier to see on the main page that there are comments – here the text is smaller and grouped with a lot of other stuff.

  3. There’s no way that those helmet-drums have severed heads in them; it would ruin the acoustics.
