LEGO Star Wars 2015 Sets List Revealed! (Winter 2015)

In 2015, Star Wars is set to have a third-coming as a franchise the likes of which the box office has never seen before. And while we’re still more than a year away from seeing the first LEGO Star Wars Episode VII set, LEGO has got a pretty solid LEGO Star Wars 2015 sets wave lined up to launch in winter 2015! If you’re hoping for original trilogy LEGO Star Wars sets you may be disappointed, but if you’re looking forward to new LEGO Star Wars MicroFighters, Rebels or Troop Builder sets, you’ll be pleased with early 2015…

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Logo

Typically I do my best to put off talking about upcoming sets until there are images available of said sets. But there’s so much textual LEGO 2015 sets new floating around that I’m getting a little bit antsy and can’t help myself anymore. I just gotta talk some LEGO, you know…? Anyway…

I was extremely wary last year when the first images of the LEGO Star Wars Micro Fighters sets leaked out, as I was dubious about the success of crazy, chibi-fied LEGO Star Wars vehicles. Well, the joke’s on me–the LEGO Microfighters line has been a big success with lots of kids and adult collectors who love it. As such, we’ll be getting a fresh half-dozen LEGO 2015 Microfighters sets come January 2015!

LEGO Star Wars Microfighters LogoThe LEGO Star Wars Winter 2015 Micro Fighters sets are as follows:

2015 LEGO Star Wars MicroFighters ARC-170 Starfighter 75072
2015 LEGO Star Wars MicroFighters Vulture Droid 75073
2015 LEGO Star Wars MicroFighters Snowspeeder 75074
2015 LEGO Star Wars MicroFighters AT-AT 75075
2015 LEGO Star Wars MicroFighters Republic Gunship 75076
2015 LEGO Star Wars MicroFighters Homing Spider Droid 75077

With a good mix of four prequel vehicles (including two Separatist droid vehicles) and two ultra-popular Original Trilogy Hoth vehicles, I think that this is going to be another successful series of LEGO Microfighters. The Vulture Droids are always a personal favorite of mine, so I’m especially looking forward to seeing a cute spin on it with the Microfighters Vulture Droid!

Star Wars T-16 Skyhopper Model with Luke Skywalker

For the LEGO Star Wars Original Trilogy fans, there’s a whopping one (yes, one) Winter 2015 LEGO Star Wars OT set. The LEGO Star Wars 2015 T-16 Skyhopper 75081 is of course the famous starship that Luke Skywalker mentions his expertise with in Star Wars Episode IV. I thought this ship’s appearance might have been zapped out of continuity now, but I had forgotten that Luke plays with a model of one in “A New Hope” and one flies overhead in Mos Eisley in “Return of the Jedi”.

I don’t know that anyone has been dying to see LEGO create a new LEGO T-16 Skyhopper set, but this set will include a badly-needed new LEGO Tusken Raider minifigure as well as the most beloved Star Wars creature of all, a LEGO Womp Rat.

Fans of the prequel era will fare a little bit better, as LEGO has four Star Wars prequel trilogy sets scheduled for the LEGO Star Wars Winter 2015 wave…

Star Wars AAT Tank from Star Wars Episode ILEGO Star Wars 2015 AAT 75080

To my utter astonishment, the last time LEGO made a regular-sized, movie-based LEGO AAT set will be fifteen years ago when the LEGO Star Wars 2015 AAT 75080 set comes out. Yikes! We’ll be getting a new LEGO Jar Jar Binks minifigure with this set, which is fine with me–kids love Jar Jar (and so do I!).

Star Wars Hailfire Droid Attack of the Clones Episode IILEGO Star Wars 2015 Hailfire Droid 75085

It’s been over a decade since LEGO released an AOTC LEGO Hailfire Droid set, and there’s definite room for improvement over the original one that we got. I’m anxious to see what LEGO has whipped up for us with the LEGO 75085 Hailfire Droid.

Star Wars Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter Blue ShipLEGO Star Wars 2015 Anakin’s Custom Jedi Starfighter 75087

This particular LEGO Star Wars sets is pretty baffling to me. The only Custom Jedi Starfighter I remember Anakin ever having was the blue one in the now-defunct Tartakovsky Clone Wars cartoon series. I wouldn’t expect LEGO to make a set of a now non-canonical starship, but I’ve no idea what else this particular set could be.

Star Wars Clone Wars Geonosis Clones Brown ARF TroopersLEGO Star Wars 2015 Geonosis Troopers 75089

I was sort of hoping that the 75089 LEGO Geonosis Troopers set would just be a pack of the different clone officers as minifigures, but it appears that this is going to contain brown clone troopers and brown ARF Trooper minifigures based off of the Clone Wars Geonosis episodes.

And yes, for those who don’t know, the just-ended-this-year Star Wars Clone Wars series is canon. This is not to be confused with the original Clone Wars cartoon by Tartakovsky, which is totally stricken from the annals of history.

Star Wars Rebels LogoAnd to close things out we’ve got a half-dozen LEGO Star Wars Rebels 2015 sets. I know some people are going to gripe about this, but Rebels is literally the only fresh Star Wars thing going until Star Wars Episode VII hits at the end of 2015, so I have no issues with LEGO giving the LEGO Rebels theme a big push.

The LEGO 2015 Star Wars Rebels sets coming in January 2015 are as follows:

Star Wars Rebels Imperial Troop Transport VehicleLEGO Star Wars 2015 Imperial Troop Transport 75078

Based off the vintage Kenner Star Wars Imperial Troop Transport, this previously toy-only vehicle is finally coming to life in the real Star Wars canon! On one hand, I think this is a ludicrous-looking vehicle that doesn’t make any logical sense to me. On the other hand, a lot of adults today grew up with this toy and loved it, and will be very happy to see this finally become a “real” vehicle in the Star Wars universe. I’ll try to reserve judgment on the 75078 LEGO Imperial Troop Transport until I see the vehicle in Rebels, but it still seems very nutty to me.

Star Wars Shadow Stormtroopers Black Stormtrooper FiguresLEGO Star Wars 2015 Shadow Troopers 75079

Supposedly 75079 LEGO Shadow Troopers will be a Battle Pack that will give us LEGO Shadow Stromtrooper minifigure as well as LEGO Shadow Guard minifigures (black Royal Guards). As both of these designs are now out-of-continuity, they must be appearing in Star Wars Rebels and brought back into canon. A lot of people love black Stormtroopers and will be excited to see them as part of the main canon for the first time!

Star Wars Rebels TIE Advanced Prototype The Inquisitor's ShipLEGO Star Wars 2015 TIE Advanced Prototype 75082 (with LEGO Inquisitor Minifigure)

This is the Inquisitor’s Ship for Star Wars Rebels, and one of the more “big name” LEGO Star Wars 2015 sets announced thus far. I have plenty of LEGO TIE Fighters already, but if Rebels impresses me, I’m willing to add the new LEGO 75082 TIE Advanced Prototype to my collection as well.

Star Wars Rebels AT-DP Toy ModelLEGO Star Wars 2015 AT-DP 75083

I was in the crowd at the Star Wars Rebels New York Comic Con 2014 panel when Pablo Hidalgo revealed the Imperial AT-DP (All-Terrain Defense Pod) vehicle for the very first time, so it holds a special place in my heart. This will obviously be similar to the LEGO AT-ST sets released in the past, but it’ll be nice to have a new twist on that design in LEGO form.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Wookie Gunship 75084 SetLEGO Star Wars 2015 Wookie Gunship 75084

The 75084 LEGO Star Wars Rebels Wookie Gunship was actually the very first of the LEGO 2015 sets to be revealed for any theme! I talked about the LEGO Wookie Gunship pretty extensively when it was revealed last month. I’m still not too excited about this set, but hopefully that will change ones I’ve seen the episode of Rebels that this ship is from for context.

I’ll post an update when images and full details of the sets are available, and you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have LEGO news and photos sent right to your Facebook Newsfeed.

Based off of text and anecdotal details only, are you excited for the Winter 2015 LEGO Star Wars sets, LEGO fans? Do you think LEGO is focusing too much on Rebels and not enough on the movies, or are intrigued to see what new and interesting designs we get in the LEGO Rebels theme?

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Sets List Revealed! (Winter 2015) — 6 Comments

  1. whoa whoa whoa why is the tartakovsky clone wars series not canon? it completely preludes episode 3 and was released like a year before. if anything it sets up the chancellor being kidnapped. grievous cough. the new star fighters. aaaaaaaand anakins new hair as well as scar. how is this not canon?

  2. I think it’s good that they are doing vehicles that have not been released for I long time, and to me there’s enough movie sets this year. As for all the rebel sets, I’ll wait till I can finally watch some episodes untill I decide if I want to buy thoses sets or not.

  3. I’ve got a 5 yr old son and we’ve got all the 6 micro fighters and even I think they are great, although apart from 2x advent calendars and the a-wing we don’t have much SW lego …. yet!

The full size republic gunship is coming for Xmas so it might be good to get a micro spider droid to fight against. Also like the OT sets from hoth.

Would like to see microfighters get a 3rd series as would love a micro Tantive IV with Leia.

  4. I just saw the prelim photos of these sets. Microfighters are all pretty cool. We will be getting most if not all of these. The rebels speeders look good and I have a suspicion my son will want the AAT. It is pretty small.

  5. Well I think they should make a battle pack of Commander Bly on Felucia with jedi master Aayla Secura with the mid size AT OT. Thats my suggestion.
