LEGO Star Wars 2015 Anakin’s Custom Jedi Starfighter 75087!

The now-defunct Star Wars Expanded Universe lives on in LEGO form! Regardless of the fact that other companies are shying away from Star Wars stories that have been non-canonical since Disney took over, LEGO is boldly rushing forward with sets from throughout Star Wars history (and from events that have been stricken from its history!). The latest of the LEGO Star Wars 2015 sets to revisit a now extra-fictional fictional event in Star Wars history is 75087 LEGO Star Wars Anakin’s Custom Jedi Starfighter!

2015 LEGO Star Wars Anakin's Custom Jedi StarfighterThough its entire run-time was shorter than any season of the Cartoon Network Star Wars Clone Wars cartoon series, the Tartakovsky Clone Wars series has remained a well-liked and popular segment of the Star Wars universe since its inception over a decade ago. Even so, when Disney wiped the slate clean of  “Expanded Universe” stories in the past year, the more modern Clone Wars series was made canon and the Clone Wars Tartakovsky series was stricken from the record. Alas!

If there’s one facet of the Tartakovsky Clone Wars series that’s going to remain in my personal canon, however (besides General Grievous not being a bumbling fool), it’s the epic throwdown between Anakin Skywalker and Asajj Ventress. And while I can’t call that duel “canon” anymore, at least I’ll be able to remember it with this awesome LEGO Anakin’s Custom Jedi Starfighter 75087 set coming in January 2015!

Star Wars Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter Blue Ship75087 LEGO Anakin’s Custom Jedi Starfighter will contain LEGO Anakin’s Custom Jedi Starfighter (the Azure Angel), a LEGO Anakin Skywalker minifigure, a LEGO Asajj Ventress minifigure and a LEGO R4-P22 Astromech Droid minifigure. I believe this is the first time a standalone figure of R4-P22 has ever been produced by any company (that poor, poor ill-fated droid!).

The price and piece-count for this set are both currently unknown, and probably will continue to be so until the retailer who gets this set as an exclusive releases those specifics. LEGO Star Wars 75087 features the ever-popular spring-loaded missiles, and is likely the final time that we’ll ever see the Clone Wars Azure Angel ship produced in toy form by any manufacturer. If you want to commemorate the Tartakovsky Star Wars Clone Wars cartoon series, this may be your last chance!

2015 LEGO Star Wars Anakin's Custom Jedi StarfighterThe LEGO 75087 Anakin’s Custom Jedi Starfighter set is scheduled to be released in January 2015. As this set is a retailer exclusive, I think it’s unlikely that we’ll see this particular set pop up before 2015 begins, but stranger things have happened. I’ll post more details on the retailer location, set price and piece-count as they become available, and you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have news and photos beamed right to your Facebook Newsfeed!

How do you like the LEGO Star Wars 2015 Anakin’s Custom Jedi Starfighter 75087 set, LEGO fans? Are you psyched to see the Clone Wars Tartakosvky series commemorated one final time, or is there no room in your heart (or your room!) for Star Wars sets that have been wiped from the record?

  1. The Tartakovsky Clone Wars were what got my family interested in Star Wars, so I’m excited to see this ship as well. No matter what the Star Wars franchise does in the future, those who have seen TCW will know Windu took down an Army of Battle Droids by himself and is the reason Grievous is coughing in the 3rd movie. I could go on and on, but back to Lego.

I do wish this ship was a little more accurate in it’s color blocking, but I’ll take what I can get when it comes to the Original Clone Wars. Needless to say, my son will enjoy using this ship to re-enact the Ventress chase scene and it’s subsequent demise.

    • You’ll be able to get it at the LEGO Store and one retailer who carries it as an exclusive. The retailer exclusives (other than polybags) are always available at the LEGO Store.
