LEGO Star Wars in 100 Scenes Book Announced for 2015!

At this point, there are dozens of LEGO books available on the market and hundreds of Star Wars books out there. So you might think that there’s nothing new than a LEGO Star Wars book could have to offer. But the creative geniuses over at DK Publishing have lined up a fresh and fun new book for us for 2015–the LEGO Star Wars in 100 Scenes Book is now available for order!

LEGO Star Wars in 100 Scenes

Earlier this fall, a Star Wars in 100 Scenes book by Jason Fry was released, filled with photos and factoids from the Star Wars movies. I love Star Wars and all (a lot), but that book just wasn’t my thing, as I’ve seen every second of the Star Wars movies dozens of times (literally), and really don’t feel the need to own another book filled with screenshots pulled from the movies.

But wait–! There’s a different spin on that book coming out in a few months time, and this is one that I really can appreciate: LEGO Star Wars in 100 Scenes! I may have seen the scenes before–but never recreated with LEGO vehicles and minifigures! This is a fun and interesting idea, and definitely creative enough to get me to shell out 13 bucks to check out this 216 page book in the spring. Hopefully the book will give me some new ideas for my own displays as well. Good show, DK Publishing!

Unlike the various LEGO Character Encyclopedias and BrickMaster books that get released each year, sadly the LEGO Star Wars in 100 Scenes book will not come packed with an exclusive minifigure (or any minifigure at all, for that matter). That’s always disappointing, but it’ll also mean that those not interested in this particular ancillary LEGO book won’t be forced to buy it. I’ll be buying this book anyway, so I would have preferred if it came packaged with a new minifigure, but I know the fact that it does not will come as a relief to folks who aren’t as intrigued by this book as I am.

LEGO Star Wars in 100 Scenes Book Announced

The LEGO Star Wars in 100 Scenes book is now available for pre-order, and is scheduled to be released on April 7, 2015 (That’s the day after my wife’s birthday–I wonder if she’d appreciate this as a late gift? …Probably not!).

What do you think of the latest addition to the line of DK Publishing LEGO books? Is this book creative enough to earn a spot on your shelf, or are you not interested in LEGO books that come sans an exclusive minifigure?
