I was legitimately beginning to wonder whether or not LEGO was just going to begin shipping the long-awaited LEGO Simpsons Minifigures Series 71005 this summer without actually showing us images of the figures first, but that silly thought has now been dispelled! This morning, LEGO finally officially revealed LEGO Simpsons Minifigures photos of all sixteen figures that make up the series. I had my doubts, but the figures look superb and some of the episode-specific accessories are dowright awesome…
I was a bit thrown by the crazy facial expressions LEGO gave the main five members of The Simpsons family in the ultra-amazing LEGO Simpsons House 71006 set that’s now available for order exclusively through the LEGO Store, but LEGO has wisely gone for normal, iconic looks for all of the characters in the LEGO 71005 Simpsons Minifigures Series of blind bags. Seeing these photos, the LEGO Simpsons toys are definitely a rousing success!
The figures included in the 71005 LEGO Simpsons Minifigures Series blind bags are as follows:
LEGO Homer Minifigure (with Donut and Remote Control)
LEGO Marge Simpson Minifigure (with Donut Fancy Magazine and Purse)
LEGO Bart Simpson Minifigure (with Skateboard)
LEGO Lisa Simpson Minifigure (with Saxophone)
LEGO Maggie Simpson (with Bobo, Mr. Burns’ Teddy Bear)
LEGO Grampa Simpson Minifigure (with “Old Man Yells at Cloud” Newspaper)
LEGO Milhouse Minifigure (with Biclops Comic Book)
LEGO Nelson Minifigure (with Baseball Bat)
LEGO Chief Wiggum Minifigure (with Megaphone and Baton)
LEGO Ralph Minifigure (with “I Choo-Choo-Choose you” Valentine’s Day Card)
LEGO Itchy Minifigure (with Club)
LEGO Scratchy Minifigure (with Axe)
LEGO Ned Flanders Minifigure (with “I Love South Paws” Mug and Toolbox)
LEGO Apu Minifigure (with Squishee Cup)
LEGO Mr. Burns Minifigure (with Blinky Fish in a Fishbowl and Inanimate Carbon Rod)
LEGO Krusty Minifigure (with Cream Pie)
The LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures Series blind bags will be released in May 2014 at a cost of $3.99 per blind bag. This is a dollar more than we’re accustomed to paying for LEGO Minifigures blind bags, but it’s due to the licensing cost of The Simpsons and all of the new mold pieces that were necessary to make a LEGO The Simpsons figures series a reality.
I’ll post a new article once these LEGO The Simpsons figures finally start to show up in stores (I’m betting they begin leaking out within one month of now!), and you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have LEGO news, photos and updates sent right to your Facebook Newsfeed!
Alright, LEGO fans! Now that you have seen the hi-res photos of the entire LEGO Simpsons Minifigure Series 71005, what do you think? Has LEGO won you over with their execution of this legendary license, or is a licensed LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures Series of blind bags still not something you’re interested in?
All those new Figures scream for new Simpsons Lego sets. There are already a bunch on Cuusoo up for voting to become official sets like a version of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant
Lego’s certainly been churning out the specialized heads for the licensed properties. Hopefully the new “baby” body developed for Maggie will see greater usage. The short legs (IIRC, originally developed for the Hobbit characters in LOTR.) have already gotten a lot of use.
This is the first set of the blind bag figures that I can hardly wait to get. They are SUPER. Ed Russell
They are AWESOME :-))
I will make sure to get the full set on release day as I think these will sell out very quickly
The good thing about the whole having molded heads is that the blind feeling of the bags will go super fast compared to some of the other sets.
