The absolutely worst-kept LEGO secret in 2013 was the upcoming LEGO The Simpsons theme. We’ve had to live with tiny dribbles of information regarding the LEGO 2014 Simpsons theme for the past half-year, with the bulk of our news coming from rumors and Simpsons minifigure prototypes stolen from the factories. But thanks to a new leak today, we’ve got our biggest glimpse at the Simpsons LEGO theme yet–and I do mean big! It’s the 2,523 piece LEGO The Simpsons House 71006!

You know how sometimes you indirectly get information from the friend of a friend? Well, the most exciting peak at the LEGO Simpsons sets yet comes from the brother of a Facebook friend of Carlos on the Eurobricks forums! It’s a weird source of information, but I’m not one to complain about a gift!

As the one confirmed LEGO Simpsons playset, we knew the LEGO Store-exclusive LEGO The Simpsons house was going to be pretty large–but even I’m surprised by how large it actually is! The 71006 LEGO Simpsons House consists of a fairly grandiose 2523 pieces–a huge number for a LEGO house! I’m not at all convinced that LEGO captured the authentic color of the Simpsons’ house from the cartoon, but otherwise the building looks pretty dead-on accurate.

Six minifigures are included with the Spring 2014 LEGO Simpsons House: a LEGO Homer Simpson Minifigure, a LEGO Marge Simpson Minifigure, a LEGO Bart Simpson Minifigure, a LEGO Lisa Simpsons Minifigure, a LEGO Maggie Simpson Minifigure, and a LEGO Ned Flanders minifigure.

A LEGO Grandpa Simpson minifigure was expected to come with this set (along with the family dog, Santa’s Little Helper), but it looks like we’ll have to find Grampa Simpsons in the upcoming LEGO Simpsons Minifigure Series blind bags! It’s also worth noting that the Maggie minifigure seems to have a brand-new mold short(-er) legs!

While the exterior of the LEGO Simpsons 71006 set is a bit bland, you can see on the box that the house unfolds and has a detailed interior. All of the famous rooms from the Simpsons House are represented here in LEGO form–from the kitchen to the bedrooms to the family room! I can’t wait until high-quality photos of the inside of the Simpsons house surface, so we can see how well LEGO has captured the iconic Simpsons living room and sofa!

The LEGO The Simpsons House 71006 is expected to be released in Spring 2014. The exact release date and price are presently unknown, but as the set contains over 2,500 pieces and six minifigures, it’ll likely cost $180-$220.
