Unless you’ve been living under a rock (and no offense if any of you actually are), you’ve probably heard about the LEGO The Simpsons theme coming in 2014! We’ve been talking about it here on Bricks and Bloks since last summer, and we got our biggest breakthrough yet over the weekend, when two photos of the LEGO The Simpsons House 71006 leaked out. Well, at least that was the biggest breakthrough–until LEGO officially unveiled the set today, with a plethora of hi-res images and all the pricing, details, and release for the LEGO Simpsons House! Whatever your questions about this set were, LEGO has probably answered them…
LEGO has sent out about a gadjillion images of the 2014 LEGO Simpsons House 71006 set, which I’ve posted on the Bricks and Bloks Facebook Page. Some of the images are also here in this article, but there were literally so many photos that it was impossible to talk about them all here without me writing thousands upon thousands of words! Anyway, here’s what I consider some of the highlights of this major set reveal…
From the outside, the LEGO 2014 Simpsons House is looking pretty swank. I still think that LEGO didn’t choose the appropriate color for the exterior of the Simpsons’ house, but the actual build design itself is spot-on accurate. I love the little brick-built foliage growing around the house, and being able to see the interior through the windows is super-fun.
I’m honestly not sure if I like or hate the Simpsons minifigures included with this set. I think the expressions LEGO chose for all the LEGO Simpsons family members (sans Maggie) are way too context-specific. I don’t like that the Lisa Simpsons LEGO Minifigure has a permanently distressed face, while the LEGO Bart Simpson figure will forever have a sneaky, sly look on his face (and so on). The colors are right on these figures and they translate far better to LEGO minifigure form than I expected, but I just don’t know that I like the heads LEGO designed.
The LEGO Simpsons House opens up (like a book) so you can see all of the detailed rooms inside. And boy oh boy–did LEGO ever outdo themselves! I’m shocked that they actually managed to include every known room from the Simpsons cartoon series in this LEGO Simpsons set!
Bart Simpson’s room is exactly as you always imagined it–just recreated in LEGO form, with a LEGO Radioactive Man comic book, a LEGO Krusty the Clown poster on the wall, and a LEGO Skateboard for Bart to ride around on!

And yes–there’s even a LEGO bathroom with a LEGO toilet and LEGO toilet paper rack! Un-be-liev-able!
Even the Simpsons’ garage has an insane level of detail! This is really, really outstanding stuff LEGO has created for us. And if static images aren’t enough to get your blood boiling, LEGO was also kind enough to release an awesome video showing off all of the fun and incredible features of the LEGO The Simpsons House:
The LEGO The Simpsons House 71006 set will be available for order exclusively from the LEGO Shop on February 1st, 2014. The set will retail for $199.99, which is a very nice price for a licensed set containing 2,523 pieces (less than 8 cents per piece!). An additional LEGO Simpsons Minifigures Series of blind bag figures will be available in May 2014 (although the price is going up to $3.99 per figure–ew!).
Now that you’ve seen the hi-res images and details of the glory that is the 71006 LEGO Simpsons House, will you be picking this set up next month, LEGO fans?
Shame that Santa’s Little Helper and Snowball 2 are not included. I think that would have totally completed the set for me.
