LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine 75902 Revealed!

If anyone had told me a year ago that there would be LEGO Scooby-Doo sets coming in 2015, I would have thought that they were out of their minds. But that was before LEGO became the most successful toy manufacturer in the world, and before we knew that the Scooby-Doo franchise was getting ready for a resurrection (again). At the London Toy Fair 2015 this week, the 2015 LEGO Scooby Doo theme was finally confirmed. And today, we got our very first look ever at a Scooby-Doo set: the LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine 75902!

LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine 75902 Set

“Jinkies!!” I woke up this morning and was shocked to see that LEGO had publicly unveiled the 75902 LEGO Mystery Machine set as the first of their Scooby-Doo toy line! I honestly hadn’t expected to see any of the sets from this theme until the New York Toy Fair 2015 in three weeks, but it looks like LEGO decided to throw us a bone (or some Scooby Snacks!) as an extra special treat today!

The LEGO 75902 Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine set will include four figures: a LEGO Fred minifigure (“Freddy” to us “Pup Named Scooby-Doo” fans!), a Shaggy minifigure, a new LEGO zombie minifigure, and a LEGO Scooby-Doo figure (which can’t really be considered a minifigure at all). In addition, there’s also a brick-built sandwich (is this the first brick-built sandwich ever?) and a crazy-evil haunted tree!

The LEGO Mystery Machine vehicle itself looks terrific. Although it won’t be large enough to fit the whole gang inside (which would be difficult anyway, since the LEGO Velma minifigure is exclusive to a $90 set), it has its beloved psychedelic color scheme and looks to have many printed pieces instead of a ton of decals. At 301 pieces for $29.99, this LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine 75902 set is a solid value that it will be hard to wait until August 2015 to buy!

I’ll be posting photos of the rest of the LEGO Scooby-Doo 2015 sets live from the New York Toy Fair 2015 next month, so be sure to ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have all of the news and photos sent straight to your Facebook Newsfeed then!

This is obviously just one set, but already the LEGO Scooby-Doo theme is looking like it’s going to be tons of classic fun! Are you excited for the LEGO 2015 Scooby-Doo sets, LEGO fans?

  1. There have definitely been brick-built sandwiches before. The one that comes immediately to mind is in the Elsa’s Ice Palace set, though it’s much smaller (it’s the same size as a 1×2 brick, whereas this one is 2×2 and is 1 2/3 bricks high).

On he set itself, there’s really no reason why I should want it, but I want it. Probably won’t get it, though, as there’s going to be a ton of other sets this year.

  2. Feel like they are missing a clear chance with the “monsters” in these sets to use the chima mask/headpiece molds for something cool with the “monsters”. The unmasking the villain at the end of the ep is such an essential part of scooby doo, would have been cool to see it represented here.

  3. The real question:

Will one be able to fit Freddy, Daphne, and Velma in the front seat? That’s like, a major deciding factor in if this is worthy of wanting. Alongside the haunted castle of course.

  4. It looks like you get two minifigures in the front and scooby’s head sticking through that little opening. Which is still pretty cool.
    Okay. This…that 90 castle… am I missing a set? What’s the other daphne set?
