In case you were stranded on an abandoned island over the weekend, you may not have heard about the beloved holiday that took place over the weekend: LEGO Star Wars May the 4th 2014! As has become tradition, the LEGO Stores celebrated with an exclusive minifigure, some lackluster sales (and a couple good deals that sold out instantly), and the release of the biggest LEGO Star Wars set of the year: the LEGO Jawa Sandcrawler 75059!
There’s a method to that madness, of course: by ordering online, I was able to buy my Jawa Sandcrawler LEGO set at midnight Friday night and lock in my LEGO Darth Revan minifigure exclusive without having to fight the LEGO mobs at the mall and risk sell-outs on Saturday. That’s how I’m justifying it, anyway.
Regardless, I couldn’t live without seeing the 2014 LEGO Sandcrawler 75059 in person another day, so I headed off to the closest LEGO Store first thing this morning to take some in-store photos of the LEGO Star Wars Jawa Sandcrawler display!
Not surprisingly, the store was sold out of both the LEGO Star Wars 75059 Sandcrawler and the Darth Revan minifigure. Even so, I did have to chance to photograph the display box for the Sandcrawler LEGO set and the completed “demo” Sandcrawler on display in the glass case. So if you don’t have your own LEGO Store or haven’t made it out to it yet, you can check out these pictures to see just what you’re missing out on!
The 75059 LEGO Jawa Sandcrawler is now available for order through the online LEGO Store and at physical LEGO Store chain locations. If you don’t have a local LEGO Store and you want the set, you’ll have to order through the online LEGO Shop, as the LEGO Star Wars Sandcrawler 75059 will not be available through the usual stores like Target, Walmart and Toys R Us.
Who (besides me) dropped three Benjamins over the weekend and became one LEGO 75059 Star Wars Sandcrawler richer (or should I say poorer)? If not, are you planning to pick up a LEGO Jawa Sandcrawler in the future?
