As we count down towards the new year, we’re also slowly filling in the gaps with the remaining LEGO 2015 sets that haven’t appeared yet! Many of these sets are store exclusives for which the images may not turn up for a while yet, but there are also a handful of mass release sets that are trying their hardest to stay a surprise for as long as possible. While we saw almost every LEGO Ninjago 2015 set last month, there was still a straggler hiding away. But not anymore–the LEGO Ninjago Jay’s Electro Mech 70754 set has now been revealed!
Collectors of the LEGO Ninjago theme are no strangers to mechs. Red Ninja Kai has had a couple mechs over the years, and Black Ninja Cole joined the party his own mech in 2014. Poor Jay the Blue Ninja must have been feeling jealous–but no longer! This winter the LEGO Ninjago Jay’s Electromech 70754 will give us the first blue mech in the Ninjago theme!
I rather like the LEGO 70754 Jay’s Electro Mech itself because it’s blue and because I like the character of Jay, but otherwise I find the set to be sort of “Ehn”. Some plastic electricity/lightning energy effects would have gone a long way to making this set feel worthwhile–as it is, there’s nothing “electrical” about this set besides a few decals.
The included minifigures aren’t exactly inspired either, as we get another generic Anacondrai Warrior minifigure and a new Jay minifigure (which I believe is exclusive to this set).
The LEGO Electro-Mech 70754 set is part of the LEGO Ninjago 2015 sets wave that’s due out in stores by January 2015. The Ninjago sets seem to hit stores a tad earlier than most of the winter LEGO sets do each year, so we may actually see a decent quantity of these 2015 LEGO Ninjago sets hitting before the holidays. If the Jay’s Electro Mech LEGO Ninjago set is on your holiday shopping list, stay turned to the Bricks and Bloks Facebook Page, where I’ll be posting as soon as the new sets turn up at retail.
Are you excited about the LEGO 70754 Electro-Mech set, Ninjago fans? Or is Jay’s first mech not elaborate enough to get your ninja blood pumping?
Over at the brick fan they said rocket raccoon will be available in toys r us as a stand alone polybag set for $4.99 available on 11/16. Is this true, and will it be available in the U.S.?
Rocket will definitely be available in the US, and while you will be able to purchase him separately, don’t assume that he’s not going to be given away–free–this month as part of a promo as well.
another great year for the lego fans
