It took an extra couple of weeks for photos of most of the other Winter 2014 LEGO Ninjago sets to surface, but the wait is finally over! The Swedish web store Brixit posted images of three more upcoming 2014 Ninjago LEGO sets, including the set I’ve been the most excited about of all: the LEGO Ninjago Nindroid MechDragon 70725! It’s huge, it’s impressive, and it includes some of the most crazy LEGO Ninjago minifigures yet…
The LEGO Ninjago theme is the place to be these days if you want cool brick-built dragons, and Ninjago’s streak of super-neat dragon LEGO sets continues in 2014 with next year’s enormous 70725 LEGO Ninjago MechDragon set! The Nindroid MechDragon is the first-ever mecha dragon ever released in LEGO form, and I think it looks pretty bloodcurdlingly intimidating!
The black, purple and silver color scheme reminds me a little bit too much of the Raven Tribe from the LEGO Legends of Chima theme, but the MechDragon’s giant sawblades and huge missile-firing rocket launcher (which does not look like a flickfire missile launcher, by the way) definitely make it a dangerous opponent for the Ninjago ninjas to take on! I’m honestly not sure that the little buggy the ninjas are packing will be enough for them to get the job done!
We can tell from the packging for the LEGO 70725 Nindroid MechDragon that there are at least five 2014 Ninago minifigures includes included with the set, includes another Lloyd Garmadon, a couple of Nindroids, and most perplexing of all–Sensei Garmadon and Evil Wu?! Anyone who’s watched a few episodes of the Ninjago cartoon is likely to be pretty baffled by what has led to an Evil Wu being on the loose, but I suspect we’ll have to wait until the new 2013 episodes of the Ninjago cartoon air before we get the answer to that conundrum!
The LEGO Ninjago Nindroid Mech Dragon 70725 set is scheduled to be released by January 1st, 2014. The bricks count and set price are currently unknown, but I’ll add that information once it becomes available.

Maybe they’re visiting a “Mirror Universe” where the good guys are bad guys and vice versa?
