LEGO Mixels have come out of nowhere to become a real sales sensation among kids and AFOLs, and fans can’t wait for the 2014 Summer LEGO Mixels Series 2 figures to arrive! Earlier tonight I talked about my favorite of the new three Mixels tribes to be introduced–the blue Mixels Frosticons tribe, but that’s not to say there’s not some other cool creatures lined up for Mixels Series 2! Coming June 2014–the LEGO Mixels Series 2 Orange Flexers figures!
Yep, this is a pretty crazy tribe–and I love it. Orange is my favorite color and I love the idea of rubbery, long-bodied monsters like the Flexers Mixels tribe. Lots of win here for LEGO.
First up, let’s look at LEGO Mixels Series 2 Kraw 41515. Kraw is a weird mix between a tentacle-monster space alien and a crayfish, hence his name “Kraw”. I usually don’t like creatures with more than four legs, but the six-legged and many-teethed LEGO Kraw 41515 is actually quite huggable and endearing. Just looking at him, it’s clear that LEGO Kraw is going to be the best-selling of the LEGO Mixels Flexers orange tribe.
Next up we’ve got the inarguable least-lovable of the Mixels Flexers trio, Tentro. LEGO Tentro 41516 is really not a good-looking dude, as he’s got a conehead going on and four crab-like legs of his own. I would have assumed that the name “Tentro” has to do with tentacles, but this LEGO Mixels Tentro figure doesn’t have any, so I’m really not sure where the name comes from. Readers?
Poor LEGO 41516 Tentro. He’s just not cute (at least, not to me). He’s likely destined to be the slowest seller of the LEGO Mixels Series 2 orange monsters, but I could be wrong (it has happened once or twice).
Finally, we’ve got Mixels Series 2 LEGO 41517 Balk. At first glance I thought that the Balk Mixels toy was pretty ugly, but the three-legged Balk has grown on me quite a bit the more that I look at him. I’m still not sure if the black protrusions coming out of Balk’s face are meant to be tusks or a mustache, but I think he’s sort of sweet nonetheless. For a scant five bucks, he’s cute enough that I’ll pick him up and add him to my collection.
LEGO Mixels toys are available for their suggest retail price of $4.99 online through the online LEGO Store, although they’re hard to find in many stores right now and cost a bit more from other online retailers. The LEGO Mixels Orange Flexers tribe figures will all be released as part of LEGO Mixels Series 2 in June 2014.
What do you think of the orange Mixels tribe, LEGO fans? Are the Flexers a win, a loss, or somewhere in the middle for you? Will you be adding any of this tribe to your LEGO Mixels collection this summer?
where can we find the instructions to combine the 3 orange mixels into a max flexers?
