It’s literally taken the better part of a decade since the first member was released, but the LEGO Justice League minifigures team is almost complete! The first-ever LEGO Batman minifigure arrived in 2006, with LEGO Superman and LEGO Wonder Woman joining him in 2012. 2013 brought us a LEGO Aquamam minifigure, and 2014 has added a LEGO Flash minifigure. And now, coming our way as a free promo in March 2014–the LEGO Martian Manhunter minifigure!
UPDATE: The LEGO Martian Manhunter minifigure promo is now available online!
When the LEGO Batman sets started coming out in 2006, I never in my wildest dreams thought LEGO would release LEGO minifigures of the entire Justice League. But to my joy and disbelief, in just one month’s time, LEGO will have mass-released six of the seven core members of the Justice League!
J’onn J’onzz, otherwise known as the Martian Manhunter, is one of the most iconic and powerful members of the Justice League. One of the last survivors of Mars, Martian Manhunter uses his vast array of superpowers (including telepathy, shape-shifting, intangibility, super-strength and more) to defend the Earth from villainy!
This LEGO Superheroes Martian Manhunter minifigure depicts New 52 Martian Manhunter in the costume he began wearing in 2011. Although Martian Manhunter is a member of the Justice League of America and not the Justice League in the New 52 continuity, he’ll forever be associate with the Justice League. And with a $75 or more purchase from the LEGO Stores in March 2014, collectors will finally be able to add J’onn J’onzz to their LEGO Justice League figures team!
With the imminent release of the LEGO Martian Manhunter minifigure in March 2014, there will only be a single Justice League LEGO Minifigure left to be mass-released: Hal Jordan, Green Lantern.
Longtime LEGO collectors no doubt remember that a limited-edition LEGO Green Lantern minifigure was released as a New York Comic Com 2011 exclusive that now sells for $300+ on the aftermarket. Even so, there’s no reason that LEGO couldn’t release a redesigned LEGO Green Lantern figure in 2014 or 2015 to complete the team for the masses of LEGO Superheroes collectors and fans.
The Martian Manhunter LEGO Minifigure is available exclusively with a qualifying purchase from the LEGO Store in March 2014. This is a must-have minifigure for me, and I’ll be certain to pick him up and photograph/review him the first day of March 2014.
Are you excited for the Justice League’s second most popular alien member to arrive this winter, LEGO fans? Will you be spending $75+ to get your free promo LEGO Martian Manhunter from the LEGO Store in March 2014?
I’ll be in store early March to get one. Looks like I need to delay my LEGO purchases till then.
I hate that the line is called DC superheroes and we have like 17 batmans but very few everyone else. The superman/Wonder woman combo with the lex battle suit was great!!! Let’s get a green lantern/cyborg and villian set next!!!
Flash and Aquaman could only be purchased with a batman figure. Obviously people want these figures…even without a batman…i will be holding out on my parisian restaurant purchase till march 1st.
I know!!!! I’m a die-hard Batman fan and I’m sick of every set having a Batman and his fourth different version of the same vehicle. They should have released The Flash with one or two of his villains instead of an eh version of the Riddler and another Batman, and Aquaman should have been with Ocean Master and Black Manta with a Black Manta ship, his only really recognizable villains.
