If you’re like me and tingled with delight when the first image of the 2014 LEGO Star Wars Jawa Sandcrawler hit the web last week, get ready to absolutely explode from LEGO awesome overload! As expected, LEGO finally officially revealed the long-rumored and hotly-anticipated LEGO Jawa Sandcrawler 75059 at this weekend’s Brick Cascade 2014 event! My hopes and expectations for the LEGO 75059 Jawa Sandcrawler were through the roof–but LEGO has made this LEGO Star Wars Jawa Sandcrawler everything I ever hoped and dreamed of–and more!
Over the course of the last three years, I feel like LEGO has literally reached into my soul and drawn out all of my greatest LEGO Star Wars wishes and realized them in spectacular form. 2012 brought us the incredible LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 UCS set, last year the LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village, and this year? An all-new and vastly-improved LEGO Star Jawa Sandcrawler set. When all is said and done, this magnificent trio of LEGO sets will almost certainly end up being my three favorite LEGO Star Wars sets of all time.
The LEGO 75056 Jawa Sandcrawler set is a thing of utter beauty (at least as far as slow-moving, humongous, treaded alien vehicles go). It’s also a thing of massive size–the 2014 LEGO Star Wars Jawa Sandcrawler will be a full 18″ long (a foot and a half!), 9″ tall and 6″ wide! If you’re like me, you’re probably already mentally mapping out where you can put this beast of a LEGO Sandcrawler in your home!
The LEGO Ultimate Collector’s Series Jawa Sandcrawler features a lowering front ramp, two working cranes, opening side flaps, a removable top, an opening hatch and a highly-detailed interior. There’s even a little LEGO Speederbike included with the set for when the LEGO Jawas need to move out in the open a little faster than molasses!
In short, this is beyond a doubt the single greatest Jawa Sandcrawler toy ever made–and a dream come true for Jawa fanboys like me!
The first LEGO Jawa Sandcrawler released back in 2005 had one of my favorite assortments of LEGO minifigures included ever, but the LEGO Jawa Sandcrawler 2014 version manages to be even better!
This time out we’re getting an unprecedented four LEGO Jawa minifigures (Jawa army-builders rejoice!), as well as a new LEGO Tatooine Luke Skywalker minifigure and a new LEGO Uncle Owen Lars minifigure. The LEGO Jawas look amazing, and I’m glad we’re getting an updated Uncle Owen LEGO minifigure.
The LEGO 75059 Droids are downright amazing. We have the first-ever LEGO R1 Droid minifigure (I believe this specific guy is R1-G4), an unnamed green LEGO Astromech Droid (I’m calling him R2-A6), a LEGO R2-D2 minifigure, a LEGO C-3PO minifigure, a LEGO Gonk Droid minifigure (AKA Power Droid), and even a new LEGO Treadwell Droid minifigure!
Many of these LEGO droids haven’t been released since the original LEGO Jawa Sandcrawler set (or never!), so I’m so excited to see a new LEGO Power Droid and Treadwell Droid after all these years!
And of course, last but not least, one of my favorite characters in the whole Star Wars Universe: a LEGO R5-D4 minifigure! This little astromech droid is famous for not only his bad motivator, but also for being the legendary Skippy, the Droid Jedi! (No, really. This is a real thing. I’m not making it up.)
The LEGO Star Wars Jawa Sandcrawler 75059 is scheduled to be released via the online LEGO Store and chain LEGO Stores in May 2014. The set will not be available at your everyday local stores like Target and so forth, so you’ll have to order from the online LEGO Store if you don’t have a LEGO chain store locally.
All these images of the 75059 Jawa Sandcrawler LEGO set not enough for you? If so, LEGO has also posted a great video giving us an inside look at the new and improved LEGO 204 Jawa Sandcrawler!
I’ll post an update and links to pre-order the LEGO Star Wars Jawa Sandcrawler UCS set once it goes up for order, and I will post a full review of the set once I get my own (which will be the first day it becomes available–believe it). And you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have more LEGO news, photos and updates beamed right to your Facebook Newsfeed!
The LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Series Jawa Sandcralwer will retail for $299.99 when it is released in May 2014, which I think is a totally fair price for a set with 3,298 pieces and some of the best LEGO Star Wars minifigures ever released. The set will be available exclusively through the online LEGO Shop and brick-and-mortar LEGO Stores.
Sound off, LEGO Star Wars fans! The 75059 LEGO Sandcrawler meets and exceeds all of my expectations–what about all of you? Is the 2014 LEGO Jawa Sandcrawler everything you had been hoping for?
it’s not fair i can’t get it cause i don’t own a credit card & that kind of money
