The LEGO CUUSOO Fall 2013 review results are in, and another fan-created set has been approved to join the LEGO CUUSOO lineup! There were seven sets that had picked up 10,000 supporters and earned the opportunity to be reviewed by the LEGO review board, but only one of them has been approved for production at this time. Even so, the one set LEGO has greenlit is a major property that should get the whole collecting world talking: coming soon–the LEGO Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary set with LEGO Ghostbusters minifigures and a LEGO ECTO-1 car!
Brent’s original submission consisted of three main parts: a LEGO Ecto-1 car, a LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse playset, and a quartet for LEGO Ghostbusters minifigures. The official LEGO CUUSOO Fall 2013 Review Results video only mentions the ECTO-1 and Ghostbusters minifigures specifically, so it’s likely that the LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse will not be produced as part of this set.
Please keep in the mind that the photos in this article are photos of the official fan submission–the final product will be largely based on the original submission by Brent Waller, but it won’t be exactly the same set. You can watch the CUUSOO review results video, as posted by LEGO, below:
I suspect we won’t get to see the finished prototype of the LEGO CUUSOO #07 Ghostbusters set until late spring or summer 2014. I’ll post an update once more specific details about the mass-production version of the LEGO Ghostbusters set become available, and you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have news, photos and updates sent right to your Facebook Newsfeed.
Are you excited to see LEGO Ghostbusters figures of Egon Spengler, Peter Venkman, Ray Stanz and Winston Zeddemore, LEGO fans? How about the awesome LEGO ECTO-1 car for them to drive around in?
I’m really glad this set passed the review. The Firehouse would have been neat but I’m guessing that would have upped the price point above what a causal fan would get.
The jackhammer as a PKE meter! Brilliant!
What 80s scifi car will get a Cuusoo set next?
