Considering that I spent basically the entire day yesterday blabbing about all of the new sets that went up for sale, you might think that I’ve already talked about all of the “March 2015” LEGO sets that have gone up for sale early online. But that’s not quite right! There’s one more early-released LEGO theme to talk about, and it’s a theme that’s getting its first ever wave of sets this winter: the inaugural LEGO Elves sets are now available for order online!
That said, I am capable of appreciating fun and unique new LEGO themes, and I’m really liking the intent behind the LEGO Elves theme. LEGO Friends is fine and all, but that theme tends to focus more on girls simulating going on cruises and hanging out at the mall and things like that. But with LEGO Elves, girls get a chance to make-believe fantasy and adventure in a way that we haven’t seen before in any of the LEGO Mini-Dolls themes!
These are the six sets that make up the LEGO Elves Winter 2015 wave of toys:
- LEGO Elves The Elves’ Treetop Hideaway 41075
- LEGO Elves Naida’s Epic Adventure Ship 41073
- LEGO Elves Azari and the Magical Bakery 41074
- LEGO Elves Aira’s Creative Workshop 41071
- LEGO Elves Naida’s Spa Secret 41072
- LEGO Elves Farran and the Crystal Hollow 41076
I’m actually very happy with the majority of this first series of LEGO Elves theme sets, although the “Naida’s Spa Secret” set is a little bit less adventurous and fun to me than the other sets in the wave. One thing that I find particularly interesting about this theme is that already, in the very first wave, we’ve got a set where the only mini-doll included is a boy!
I can’t remember any LEGO Friends sets being released ever where the only figure included was a boy, so the 41075 Farran and the Crystal Hollow set is definitely a mold-breaker!
Most of the LEGO Elves Winter 2015 sets are now available for order online, although this first shipment is selling out very quickly and two of the sets are already gone. If you’ve been dreaming of adding these sets to your collection–or want them as a Valentine’s Day gift for someone you love–I’d hop to and place an order before this first allotment is totally exhausted.
Are you excited about the premiere wave of LEGO Elves sets finally hitting stores, LEGO fans? Which of these Elves sets–if any–are you hoping to add to your LEGO world this winter?
