When the March 2015 LEGO Store Calendar was posted two weeks ago, there was an extra surprise reveal on the front of the calendar: a small teaser photo of a new LEGO Easter seasonal set! With Easter being the first week of April this year, I knew it wouldn’t be long until we’d be seeing said set in all its glory. And that time has arrived: the seasonal LEGO Easter 40121 set has now been fully revealed!
Over the past few months, LEGO has begun giving us some truly awesome little seasonal specific LEGO scene sets in place of the cute (but tired) brick-built LEGO animals and such.
So, sorry LEGO Bunny Rabbits! I love you and all, but this year we’re getting the enchanting-looking 40121 LEGO Easter Egg Painting set instead!
The set depicts a timeless scene of painting Easter Eggs in the kitchen (an activity I’m reasonably certainly has never been captured in LEGO form before).
40121 LEGO will include two minifigures: a mother and a child (wearing a classic LEGO Spaceman T-Shirt!). There’s also a LEGO chicken figure included (who I guess is the mother of the eggs the family in this set is stealing and painting?).
This set really raises the bar for these low-priced LEGO Seasonal sets, with tons of great details like the checkered kitchen floor and the facade of kitchen appliances. I love it!
Despite including 153 pieces, the LEGO Seasonal Easter Set 40121 is expected to be available at the low, low price of $9.99. I’d pay $15 happily, so $10 will be quite a deal if it does end up being the actual price!
The LEGO 40121 Easter Scene set is due to be officially released on March 1st, 2015 online and in the LEGO Stores (although I’d be right astonished if we didn’t see this set arrive in many LEGO Stores before the end of February 2015).
This is my favorite LEGO Seasonal Set yet, and a definite purchase for me. What about you, LEGO fans? Is this sweet 40121 Easter LEGO set bound for your home, or is this sort of seasonal decor just not for you?
I am looking forward to the Easter scene. Much better idea than another rabbit.
