Of the six themes being brought together for the first wave of LEGO Dimensions sets, there’s only one theme that hasn’t had its own theatrical movie released to its name: Ninjago. Even so, LEGO has big plans for Ninjago (including a theatrically-released movie!), and part of their plan to get everyone’s favorite ninjas into the public eye must be associating them with iconic characters like Batman, Gandalf and Marty McFly! And you can start preparing to send your ninjas up against Gollum and the Wicked Witch now, because the LEGO Dimension Ninjago sets are now available for order!

While LEGO Legends of Chima will be coming to an end this summer, it looks like LEGO is getting ready to redouble its efforts and push the original action-oriented Ninjago theme even harder!

As such, Ninjago will be getting the all-star treatment with the only announced LEGO Dimensions Team Pack so far, as well as three additional Fun Packs, for a total of five Ninjago LEGO Dimensions sets this fall!

The LEGO Dimensions Ninjago Team Pack 71207 will contain two Minifigures as well as two vehicles–all of which become unlocked in-game with the purchase of this set! The Boulder Bomber looks really neat as a mini-sized build, and I like that LEGO has bundled the traditionally most-popular of the four main Ninjago ninjas (Kai) with the traditionally least-popular of the quartet (Cole).

Because of the dynamic action nature of Ninjago, I think that this particular theme is going to add a lot of energy and fun gameplay to the LEGO Dimensions video game. The $24.99 MSRP sounds rather steep for a set with 97 pieces, but when you consider that you’re essentially getting two minifigures and two polybag sized vehicles, and four playable in-game “characters” for the money, it doesn’t really sound all that bad.

Three Ninjago Fun Packs have also been announced, although only one of them has shown up so far in photos. While Zane and Jay have yet to appear in Dimensions form (though there’s no question that they will), I’m thrilled to see Nya getting the spotlight for a change!

There are only a couple of females represented in LEGO Dimensions this far, but I am thrilled that the strong and capable Nya–AKA Samurai-X–is one of them! It will be very interesting to see how the Dimensions Nya Fun Pack 71216 sells compared to her male comrades.

And hey–Nya’s not coming alone! The 59 piece set also includes a neat-looking mini Samurai Mech build! This mech looks more fierce to me than either of the other revealed Ninjago vehicles, and I have a feeling using this Samurai Mech in-game is going to be loads of fun, making this one of my favorite LEGO Dimensions Expansion Sets so far.

The LEGO Dimensions Ninjago sets are now available for pre-order, with an expected release date in fall 2015. I would think that LEGO would be prepared for the demand for these sets, but with the insane popularity of Nintendo Amiibo, who knows? If you know you’re going to want some of these sets, you may want to lock in a cancelable reservation now, just in case.
