As much as I love superheroes, I’ve hit the point in my life where I no longer watch the latest episodes of weekly superhero cartoons. I’m more of a movie guy these days. Luckily, Warner Bros. knows exactly what I like, and they’re delivering once again this summer with both a new LEGO DC Superheroes movie and an exclusive minifig: the LEGO Tricker Minifigure with Justice League Attack of the Legion of Doom DVD is now up for order!
And so, it was with unbridled delight that I heard the official announcement of the latest movie earlier this week: LEGO Justice League Attack of the Legion of Doom!
Considering that this is the year that the LEGO Superheroes toys line started to really go above and beyond being centered on Batman, it feels right and natural that the animated movies that complement the theme are focusing more on characters outside of the Bat-mythos as well.
What’s got me really excited about this release, however, isn’t the movie itself (though I’ve got no doubts the film will be charming and enjoyable)–it’s the free promo Minifigure packed in with the DVD!
I’ve been a Flash comic book fan all my life, and my favorite Flash villain has been the Axel Walker version of the Trickster ever since Geoff Johns created him in 2002. And though I never expected a major figure of the Trickster to be released, with the popularity of the Flash right now and Mark Hamill’s reprisal of the character for the Flash TV show, it looks like now was the time for an exclusive LEGO Trickster Minifigure to make its surprise debut!
As is the rule with figures released in this manner, the Trickster LEGO Minifigure will be available only with the purchase of the LEGO DC Super Heroes Justice League Attack of the Legion of Doom Blu-Ray/DVD, and the figure will never be reissued with a plain old LEGO set down the road. If your collection won’t be complete without the Trickster, this is the only place to get the figure.
The new LEGO Justice League movie with exclusive Trickster Minifigure is now up for order (with a 20% pre-order discount!), and is scheduled to ship out on August 25th 2015. That sounded like eternity to me until I realized it was already June. Wow–time flies!
Will you be purchasing the latest LEGO Super Heroes movie, DC fans? And if so, are you getting it just for the Trickster figure, or are you interested in the actual Justice League cartoon itself as well?
