“Look… in the sky! It’s a plane…! No… it’s a car! No… it’s… a robot?!” Continuing along with our discussions of the 2015 LEGO Creator sets that should be hitting stores this winter, today we’ve got a bit of an oddity for the theme: a sci-fi themed set! We’ve all become accustomed to the LEGO Creator 3-in-1 sets by now, but this winter 2015 set contains three different builds that are a little bit more varied than what we usually get: it’s the LEGO Creator Future Flyer 31034!
See, while I was looking at this set and seeing just a robot, a car and an airplane, what I was supposed to be seeing was a robot, a futuristic car and a futuristic airplane.
While the airplane/spaceship build of this LEGO Future Flyer 31034 set isn’t the most compelling design I’ve ever seen for a LEGO aircraft, I do think that the Robot and Future Car builds are rather nice-looking. Perhaps this is actually a moon convertible sports car…? Could be!
And seeing as how this is a LEGO robot and all, you could say that he’s a wannabe Transformers triple-changer who disassembles his own bricks and recombines them into the other two forms. I think that that puts a pretty cool spin on this Future Flyer robot, don’t you think?
All three potential builds in this set look pretty fun, so it’s definitely a plus that this set should be reasonably cheap for those who wants to buy multiple copies and have different Future Flyer builds built and displayed at the same time!
The 31034 Future Flyer LEGO set is part of the Winter 2015 LEGO Creator sets wave, and is expected to start hitting select stores (re: Toys R Us and the LEGO Store) before the holidays this year. I haven’t heard of any sightings of this particular set yet at any retail store, but I’ll post an update the ‘Bricks and Bloks’ Facebook Page once the set has been spotted at retail or online.
What do you think of the LEGO 31034 Future Flyer set, LEGO fans? Do you like the science fiction tone of this set, or is it too far-fetched for your LEGO collecting tastes?
