After a nearly uncountable number of LEGO sets were released over the course of the past two months, I think I went into a mini-withdrawal of a sort when there was absolutely nothing new in stores to talk about. Rather than enjoying the brief respite, I decided to head out to local stores to see if there was anything LEGO at all I hadn’t seen before. And as luck would have it, I did find one new polybag set–the LEGO City Repair Lift 30229 set has now been released!
I’ve seen so many LEGO polybags over the years with various little cars and boats and jetskis and what-not in them that it’s fairly uncommon for me to see a LEGO City polybag set that really makes me stop and smile. Luckily, the LEGO City 30229 Repair Lift set is just such a polybag!
30229 LEGO City Repair Lift is a pretty simplistic set–it’s a little repair lift construction vehicle (good for raising a worker up to repair a telephone pole or power line or whatever), along with a LEGO Repair Man minifigure (who really reminds me at a glance of that guy from the Breaking Bad show that I’ve never seen an episode of).
There’s nothing on this polybag specifically denoting it as being a Toys R Us exclusive, so it’s certainly possible that we’ll see it show up at another venue somewhere down the line. While many LEGO polybags have ended up being Toys R Us exclusives in the past, we’ve also seen them migrate to other stores like Target and Walmart, and even occasionally turn up again as LEGO Store free promos. But if you really like this polybag, I’d just snag it at Toys R Us now–for $3.49, you don’t have a lot to lose, even if the set does turn up somewhere else eventually!
If you want to claim the 30229 LEGO Repair Lift polybag set for your very own, it should be available at most Toys R Us stores now, so get hunting if you want this one!
Is the LEGO 30229 Repair Lift unique and interesting enough to get your attention, LEGO, fans? Or are you saving your LEGO dollars for bigger and more complicated sets?
He does look a bit like Walter White, but I think he’ll also work very well as the start of a Cinema Snob custom figure. Now I know what to do with the Solomon Blaze torso from the Agents Infearno set…
