Last week we previewed the amazing new LEGO Legends of Chima Phoenix Fire Temple set coming in Summer 2014–but the Phoenix Tribe isn’t the only new Chima Animal Tribe and that’s the not the only major LEGO Chima Summer 2014 set on the way! Another mighty tribe is entering the fray in Chima later this year–the evil Mammoth Tribe! And they’re going to be a real force to be reckoned with, packing the terrifying LEGO Chima Maula’s Ice Mammoth Stomper 71045 vehicle…

After a fairly small number of new additions in Summer 2013, the LEGO Legends of Chima population is exploding in 2014! Not only are we getting new tribes this winter like the Chima Scoprion Tribe, Spider Tribe and Bat Tribe, but in the summer the peoples of Chima will be joined by even more new animal tribes, such as the Phoenix Tribe, Mammoth Tribe and Sabertooth Tiger Tribe!

The Mammoth Tribe is looking to make a big name for themselves right off the bat, as in July/August the massive LEGO Legends of Chima Maula’s Ice Mammoth Stomper 70145 set will be released. This humongous armored vehicle will tower over pretty much everything else that’s been released in the LEGO Chima toy line, and looks to be an unstoppable juggernaut like the Star Wars AT-AT or Lord of the Rings Oliphaunts!

Because of the nature of the LEGO 70145 Maula’s Ice Mammoth Stomper set’s aesthetic, the LEGO Mammoth Stomper almost looks like some sort of skeletal elephant zombie creature! I can’t decide if the idea of a LEGO zombie mammoth is super-cool or super-creepy. One way or the other, though, this is one mammoth that is definitely intimidating. The blaster cannons on this Mammoth’s trunk just may give me nightmares!

The price-point, number of pieces included and exact minifigures coming with the 70145 LEGO Maula’s Ice Mammoth Stomper set are still unknown, but we hope to have that information later this month when the New York Toy Fair 2014 rolls into town. The rumor is that LEGO 70145 will contain 604 pieces and retail for a hefty $89.99. Presumably this set will exclusively include the female Mammoth Tribe Maula minifigure.
