Just in case the first six LEGO Legends of Chima Animal Tribes weren’t enough for you, LEGO is set to release an additional two tribes in summer/fall 2013 that are sure to be a hit: the Skunk Tribe and the Fox Tribe! Joining the LEGO Chima minifigure collection later this year will be Skinnet Skunk and Furty Fox!
Skinnet of the LEGO Legends of Chima Skunk Tribe is a hotly-awaited figure, as he appeared in the series premiere of Cartoon Network’s Legends of Chima cartoon series. He’ll come exclusively (at least for now) in the Speedorz Skunk Attack set, which contains a ramp Skinnet’s Speedor can take off of to jump over a wolf trap and hit a target.
This seems like one of the doofier LEGO Speedorz sets that we’ve seen so far, but I actually think the wolf head build is pretty cool. Also, I love that the primary weapon for Skinnet appears to be a whip, something we haven’t seen thus far in the Legends of Chima theme.
The Furty minifigure is also going to be in a Speedorz set exclusively (for the time being): the Swamp Jump set. Furty looks to share the same floofy tail mold as Skinnet has, and uses a black spear as his weapon of choice.
I’m not a huge fan of the LEGO Legends of Chima Speedorz sets, but I actually think that the Swamp Jump 70111 set looks like a lot of fun. I like the bright colors and I’m curious to see how the “jump” part of the set will be implemented. And the Furty Fox minifigure is bar none the cutest LEGO Chima minifigure that we’ve seen so far. I’m loving the LEGO Chima Fox Tribe, and I sincerely hope we get several more Fox Tribe and Skunk Tribe minifigure when 2014 rolls around (if not sooner!).
The LEGO Legends of Chima Swamp Jump 70111 with Furty Fox Tribe minifigure and Skunk Attack 70107 with Skinnet Skunk Tribe minifigure are scheduled to be released in late summer/early fall 2013 (around September) with retail prices of about $14.99. We’ll add more news and information about the sets when it becomes available.
