All good things must come to an end, and as sad as it is, that includes the LEGO Legends of Chima theme, which will be ending abruptly with the summer 2015 LEGO Chima sets. I had the opportunity to check out all three of the final sets at New York Toy Fair 2015 this weekend, and I’ll begin covering them with the set that interested me most: the first-ever Chima Bear Tribe vehicle, LEGO Bladvic’s Rumble Bear 70225!
Luckily, LEGO is averting that tragedy with the final wave of LEGO Legends of Chima sets, as one of the final trio is the 70225 LEGO Bladvic’s Rumble Bear set! It’s neither the biggest nor the most expensive of the Summer 2015 LEGO Legends of Chima sets, but it’s definitely the one that I expect to be the most exciting to Chima collectors.
While we got out very first LEGO Brown Bear Tribe member minifigure as part of the winter LEGO 2015 sets released last month, Bladvic’s Rumble Bear will be the first–and only–vehicle released for the Chima Brown Bear Tribe.
I think that the Legends of Chima mechs have gotten progressively stronger since Gorzan’s Gorilla Striker in 2013, and are now some of the best sets released in the Chima theme.
Bladvic’s Rumble Bear is essentially a big, bulky-looking mech bear with three giant wheels making up his torso. The wheels look a bit awkward, but I’m okay with them, as it allows for the LEGO Rumble Bear to convert into its wheeled vehicle Fire CHI Mode!
The Fire CHI Mode for Bladvic’s Rumble Bear wasn’t displayed at the 2015 Toy Fair, but it is visible on the box, and looks very, very fun. I think Chima fans and kids are going to have a blast playing with this set!
LEGO 70225 will include three minifigure: a Fire Bladvic minifigure of the Brown Bear Tribe, a Vornon minifigure from the Vulture Tribe and an Iceklaw minifigure from the Ice Bear Tribe. The LEGO Bladvic figure is exclusive to this set and will not be available anywhere else. There’s also a small snowmobile vehicle for the Iceklaw figure to drive, although it’s (obviously) no match for the Rumble Bear!
The LEGO Legends of Chima Bladvic’s Rumble Bear 70225 set will be released in August 2015. LEGO 70225 will retail for $39.99 and contain 415 pieces, making it a strong value of under 10 cents per piece. This is a must-buy set for me, and I imagine it will be for most other diehard LEGO Chima fans as well. I’ll post an update to the Bricks and Bloks Facebook Page this summer, just as soon as the Rumble Bear appears in stores!
How do you like the first and last LEGO Legends of Chima Bear Tribe set, Chima fans? Will Bladvic’s Rumble Bear 70225 be joining your collection, or will the Brown Bear Tribe portion of your collection be eternally vehicle-free?
Thanks for the great pics and video! My son and I look forward to getting this set, and I think the new “transforming” sets that Lego came up with for the ending of this series are ingenious. I KNEW that those wheels had a purpose, though most people assumed they are a cosmetic flaw, these new Fire Chi sets have ALL transformed or morphed into a different kind a action or, in this case, a vehicle. These sets have trumped all others for thier ingenuity and creativity. I hope Lego collectors come to appreciate the Chima line as much as I have.
Thanks Bricks and Bloks, for covering this well deserving set, and for that matter, the whole Chima line, with the same enthusiasm as my son and I have!
Give me a heads up when they hit stores this summer!

I echo Amy’s comments. This is the one and only Lego blog that I have encountered that has treated the Legends of Chima theme with the respect and appreciation that it deserves. I just don’t understand why so many other blogs unfairly malign Chima and approach it with either condescending dismissiveness or outright hostility. Clearly, Chima did not supplant or replace any existing Lego theme, and the “you can love one theme but not both” tone that other blogs have taken with regards to Chima and its fellow unlicensed Lego themes is just downright disappointing. With that said, thanks again Bricks and Bloks for doing an exceptional job covering the Chima theme and for having an excellent blog in general. I look forward to summer wave of Chima, and I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it will not be the last. I for one want more tribe packs for other tribes. 🙂
