Another day, another preview of one of the upcoming LEGO 2014 sets! Today I’m jumping back into the Land of Chima to discuss one of the best LEGO Chima 2014 sets. This set contains the very first vehicle for the brand-new Chima Rhino Tribe, as well as being a rare set that only includes exclusive figures (in fact, there’s three of them!). Coming in January 2014–LEGO Legends of Chima Rogon’s Rock Flinger 70131!
When I heard about the Legends of Chima Rhinoceros Tribe for the very first time, I wasn’t really sold on it. Rhinos have always struck me as slow, boring animals that just sort of stand around at the zoo doing nothing. Thankfully, LEGO has managed to win me over on the Chima Rhino Tribe in one fell swoop with this LEGO Rogon’s Rock Flinger 70131 set, which is scheduled to hit stores in under a month!
The Rogon’s Rock Flinger LEGO 2014 set perfectly demonstrates the characteristics of the Rhino Tribe that LEGO wants to get across: being huge, tank-like, powerful and headstrong. This bulky tank is basically the Juggernaut (from X-Men fame) in Rhino-Shaped LEGO form! Once this LEGO Rock Flinger beast gets charging, nothing will stop it!
Not only does the LEGO Legends of Chima Rogon’s Rock Flinger set feature an awesome-looking vehicle with a terrific color scheme, but it also comes with three minifigures available nowhere else! Exclusive to the LEGO 71031 Rogon’s Rock Flinger set are the Rhino Tribe LEGO Rogon minifigure, Rhino Tribe LEGO Rinona minifigure, and Spider Tribe LEGO Sparacon minifigure! Of special note is the female Rhino Rinona minifigure, as we don’t get too many female Chima figures. Overall, an outstanding assortment of LEGO minifigures for this set!
The 70131 LEGO Legends of Chima Rogon’s Rock Flinger set is part of the January 2014 LEGO sets wave, and should be in most stores by January 1, 2014. We don’t have a confirmed number of pieces in the set or a price-point for it yet, but I’ll update here and on the Facebook page once that information is available. And you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have future LEGO news, photos and updates beamed straight to your Facebook Newsfeed!
How do you like the LEGO 70131 Rogon’s Rock Flinger set, Legends of Chima fans? Will this first LEGO Chima Rhinoceros Tribe vehicle be the first of their Tribe’s sets you purchase, or does Rogon’s Rock Flinger fail to inspire your dollars?
The Rhinos have been a fixture in the cartoon series since the beginning (albeit as one of the more dimwitted tribes), so it’s nice to see them get minifigs and a vehicle. Maybe in the summer 2014 wave we’ll see some bears and beavers?
