You know you’re a genuine comic book nerd when: an exclusive LEGO figure of the Bizarro Batman, Batzarro is announced, and you actually know who that character is. LEGO is apparently planning to crank out LEGO DC Super Heroes products in 2015 like never before, and over the weekend, word broke about their next endeavor: an original animated LEGO Justice League movie! The LEGO DC Comics: Justice League vs. Bizarro League movie is coming to DVD/Blu-Ray in 2015, and it’s bringing along an exclusive LEGO Batzarro minifigure!

Ah, Batzarro–the world’s worst detective. With his inverted bat logo and upside-down utility belt with pockets hanging open, Batzarro strolled into our lives in 2005 as part of Jeph Loeb’s Superman/Batman comic book series. The most wackado version of Batman ever, the Bizarro Batman was created by the Joker’s comic powers (I promise I’m not making this up) and shot and killed his own parents (an ironic twist on Batman’s actual origin).

To be frank, I never expected a LEGO Batman Bizarro minifigure to come our way, but he’s an interesting enough character, so I don’t mind seeing him produced. Bizarro himself is too important a character to be relegated to this kind of packed-in-with-a-DVD release instead of coming with a set, but a LEGO Batzarro figure is just right for this sort of exclusive set.

It’s worth noting that the actual Batzarro LEGO minifigure prototype shown has eye slits in his mask and a lavender/pink costume, both traits that aren’t true of the DC Comics version of Batzarro. I’d assume that Warner Bros. is taking some creative liberties with the appearance of LEGO Batzarro in the LEGO Justice League vs. Bizarro League movie to make him funnier and stand out more. I’m fine with that–I kind of like black raspberry-colored Batzarro!

The LEGO Justice League vs Bizarro League Blu-Ray and DVD combo pack with exclusive LEGO Batzarro minifigure should be available for pre-order soon and is scheduled to be released on February 10th, 2015. Yes, that’s right–now you can give your significant other the gift of Batman Bizarro for Valentine’s Day to show them how much you care! What could be better, right?
