I’m pretty open about the fact that I love the LEGO Arctic sets (not to mention the color orange), so I don’t think anyone will gasp at my admission that I’ve been buying up each of the 2014 LEGO Arctic sets all summer long. I’m holding off on reviewing those sets until I get some decent snow to take the review photos in (thank god I don’t need to take any more photos at the beach), but there’s at least one set that won’t be around in stores long enough for that. It was previously released in stores and sold out quickly, but a humongous new shipment of LEGO Arctic Scout 30310 polybag sets has just arrived in Target stores!
This year is no exception, as we have a pair of LEGO polybags just beginning to turn up in Target stores that have completed their Halloween resets of the seasonal aisle early. One of the duo of sets is the LEGO 30310 Arctic Scout polybag, which is the very first LEGO Arctic polybag set to be released in Target stores.
Despite the low, low price of $3.49 for the 40-piece set, my closest Target had this set in abundance (whereas the other Halloween 2014 LEGO polybag set–the LEGO Batwing 30301–hadn’t appeared yet at all). I’ll post a full review of the LEGO Arctic Scout 30310 in the near-future, but for now you might as well just go ahead and grab one–these seasonal LEGO polybags oftentimes sell out early, and it’s hard to begrudge or regret a unique LEGO set for under four bucks.
The 30310 LEGO Arctic Scout set is going to be one of the two major polybag releases for Target as part of their Halloween 2014 aisle reset. Only one of the several Targets that I checked today had begun the reset and actually had the Arctic Scout LEGO set in-stock, but keep checking if you want one–I imagine every Target store ought to have both of this year’s Halloween LEGO polybag sets available by the end of next week.
For those who didn’t get the LEGO Arctic Scout 30310 set when it first showed up at Toys R Us this summer, will you be grabbing the set now while you’ve got a second chance? Or would you have preferred LEGO give Target an all-new polybag LEGO set for Halloween this year instead of reissuing a set from earlier this year that had limited distribution?
You almost had me running out to buy one, but then I realized… it’s just not really calling my name. 🙂 It’s hard to resist the siren call of an inexpensive set…
I picked mine up last night! I it is hard to overlook the fact that this set is nearly identical to the City Coast Guard Sea Plane polybag from earlier this year. I wish they would have some more unique sets. It appears the Arctic set is replacing the Coast Guard set with very similar, if not slightly more appealing sets.
